Ive learned that it's easier to keep the animal under control that way, and you don't worry as muchvabout getting splashed because you are already wet too. And if fleas try to jump or climb on you, you can just use the shampoo on yourself too. They don't stand a chance that way.

I use lavender soap for flea treatment (Dr. Bronner's!).
Trouble is, none of my cats are big on water. Sure, Mink and Fluer will sit on the edge of the tub and dip their paws in if I'm taking a soak, but they'd hate getting fully submerged. Mink's brother, Bear, used to crawl behind my head. He was certainly far more adventurous as a whole. He even paddled when we had to bathe him in the tub. Mink, not so much. With her being long-haired and chubby, she looked a bit like a blimp when she was in the water. We called it "Blimping the Mink".

My main concern with the new kitten is how thin he is. I can feel his hipbones and spine very distinctly. He'd be more susceptible to cold.

Wait, that sounds familiar. Isn't that the name of the soap with all the hilarious writing all over it?

Yep! It's my favorite soap. Pretty much use it exclusively. I usually use the lavender, but I'll also use peppermint (which is best in bursts...it makes the air around my skin really cold, so it's a "jump right into a warm bed" type of winter soap), then hemp rose and citrus. I haven't tried almond or eucalyptus, but tea tree oil is off the menu because it's toxic to cats.

Typos are my current gear grinder. It's one thing when I'm texting someone on my phone, but when it happens while writing on my laptop, as I'm doing right this moment, it just annoys me and makes me feel like a f**kin retard!

Ever have to try a few types times to type out a word because the hands just won't work? So frustrating. I A couple days ago I had a bad case of spelling of spelling nephew as "newphew" and did it serveral several times that day. Just woodl would not stop hitting the damn "w" an extra time.

Or, as the thrst first crosse dout crossed out one above, occaisnally occasionally I somehow just type the wrong word entirely.

I'm a sercial serial editor though and greatful grateful that Firefox points out the mistakes. But I've left them in this time... (Most of those are mainly due to typing too fast and pretty typcia typical of me, except "woodl"... that's new and interesting. lol)

Grind... really hoping that the damn screaming dog from the house behind us is only temporary. PLEASE tell me they are just pet sitting this beast or something. I thought they only had one dog, which wasn't any issue, but this seems to be a second dog... a really irritating one. I don't know how anyone can stand having an animal that carries on to that extent. The other day I thought the darn thing had been left outside alone for a long time, and, frustrated with it, when I looked outside... they were all out there too, in the pool and on their deck, and the dog is in the yard just screaming and barking like an idiot. And they weren't even playing with the thing and egging it on to act like that, it was just out there carrying on and I don't get how they themselves don't get fed up with it.

For many years we listened to the next door neighbor's former dog bark every breath when it was left outside all afternoon, every afternoon, and I just do not have much patience for that nonsense anymore. The dog they have now is very quiet, and the one on the other side of us doesn't get to carrying on too often, so it's not been too bad in recent years. Even when WE had a dog for a number of years, there is no way we would just leave him to be acting like that, it would drive US nuts if he was carrying one that way, nor would we want to annoy the neighbors, and would either end up yelling at him to cut it out (which he listened to pretty well most times) or have to put him in the house. But these new-ish people... to not at least put the thing inside because it would not calm down and to not even be saying a word to it to try to shut it up? Oh come on! At least scolding it out loud would at least show some kind of effort in respect of others that don't enjoy listening to the darn dog do that for so long.

Had a buddy pass. One who developed a drug problem in a recent years, seems that was the cause. Leaves behind a 6 year old boy. Real shame. Sucks.

Mine doesn't do too badly until her head gets wet. She hyperventilates a little and cries occasionally but otherwise is easy to handle. Now my little buddy Mischief on the other hand.... Back before he "disappeared" he was almost a living embodiment of the cartoon cat trying to spread out to avoid a bath. Legs splayed out, claws out and teeth grabbing for anything in reach lol! You know that joke about cat bathing as a martial art? He INVENTED it!

That's awful! I'm so sorry that happened.

The good news is, the bath went fine and I cranked up the heat on my electric blanket after he was towel dried enough. He just complained a little bit toward the end and didn't like being toweled up.

That's horrible Powder.

What grinds my gears is societies focus on ego and narcisscism and avoiding problems as a whole. People setting up "safe spaces" and thinking more and more about themselves rather than everyone or what really matters.

If you're reading this, be a good person in real life. Please. Try to make things better. Take your eyes off your damn phone and look around. Go do something you can be proud of.

Two songs I'm hearing at work, don't even know which ones they are, but one has an annoying vocal sound and the other has some kind of whistle (or something), and both of them, over the rest of the noise in the place, sound like an ill behaved child yelling or shrieking at timed intervals. Grr. As if I don't already get too much of that there for real...

Minor issue, but it's really getting under my skin right now... WB stopped supporting the Injustice and Mortal Kombat X mobile games on my device (Amazon) without so much as a pre-announcement or a reason. Just one day after people kept asking where the updates were for like 2 months they said it wasn't happening. I played them pretty much daily so it cheeses me off. No other games I play have ceased updates so I have to wonder why they have killed this...

I think Amazon just stops updating things sometimes. I have a My little pony app on my tablet, and it hasn't updated since like, December 2014. I've looked it up, people have asked around, nothing. There's an "Amazon underground no micro transaction" thing now, but you can't even get that unless the app was bought after this "update" came out (and its just no transactions, nothing else has been changed). Shame, those updates are really needed. There was a glitch where it couldn't be opened, and when it finally could be the game was reset. As long as your games aren't doing something like that, it doesn't sound too too bad IMO. Annoying sure, but not terrible.

Oh joy, pouring rain trying to ruin the 4th of July fireworks. Still hear some brave souls trying to set some off though.

If I can't sit outside... well, at least I can try to watch some in the usual directions (at least on one side of the house) from the vantage point of a blurry (because of the rain) skylight at the top of the attic steps.

I was joking with a co-worker the other day that Mother Nature isn't being very patriotic.

Note to self... keep mini electric razor thingy away from inner elbow area, it is capable of razor burn. >.<

Don't think I've ever even gotten it from a regular razor, didn't think an electric was capable.

Same family nonsense, different day.

Me and mom's boyfriend literally were at each other's throats today. After being told mom has cancer last night and then blaming me for being inconsiderate despite not being told until then, I finally snapped. In addition to being removed from my apartment eventually yet again due to her not paying rent for two months and moving to what'll be a pitiful "shelter," I've had it up to her. Even if she has cancer, I don't have sympathy because she destroyed her own life and withdrew money illegally from my account. Yet I'm blamed for siding with my other family, who've easily pieced everything together and the boyfriend and mom want to blame me?

I honestly hate life at times, either I'm blamed for refusing to listen (with plenty of justification) or yelled at for blabbering too long. This whole school year was a bust for one, yet I have to go through so much manipulation over the years that I'm damn sick of everything and nearly everyone. I know there's far worse in the world, but at this point I'm just conflicted on whether I'm truly wanted by anyone or deserve to keep suffering.

Sorry mates, but at this point, the once content and vibrant GoldMutant is turning into a near broken mess. With nowhere to go soon, I just don't know where to go.

Sorry to hear that, GoldMutant. Even if your mom and her boyfriend are under a lot of stress over her diagnosis, there is zero excuse to take anything out on you or presumably treat you like you don't have your own feelings over it or anything else. I mean, what a way to share that news with you.

Grind... impatient people who seem to think they have priority over anyone else.

So there was no one scheduled on at work for the mattress department - yeah, I agree, customer lady, that sucks. (Esp as that means it's me that anyone will come bugging about it and I can't help them out with that, at best I can try to get someone who can help.)

But then she waited only three or four minutes before asking me if I talked to someone, even after she was right there when I picked up the phone and paged for customer assistance**, and after being told that yes I did and that someone will need to come up from downstairs to assist with it but I it may take a few for them to be able to come up... she and the other woman left soon after, after no more than five frigging minutes.

Yeah, I get it, we're understaffed, that is the company's doing, not ours. But does she really think she is more important than any other customer? I can understand if you were sitting around for 10 or 20, but less than five? Self important enough to think that someone who can handle the mattress department but who very likely is currently WITH another customer should just drop that person and come running immediately? No passing thought of "Oh, maybe that's the case"? No?

So tired of people thinking they should be treated like some damn VIP that they are not.

**of which I generally avoid doing as much as possible and this is only the third time in almost 8 months of work there so she aught to feel honored. lol
