In the comments of Ciro's post he says that Kevin Eastman told him a story that April was based off of a black girl that Kevin dated in high school. I like the April we got but this would of been cool as well.

Man, all the side eyes and angsty retorts makes it seem like some folks here just hate white folks, in a self loathing sort of way.
On top of that being extra catty over DA fan art. Impressive!
Somebody's got some serious insecurities when fanboy doodles are threatening.

I honestly don't understand that. Granted, I'm a big fan of the 2003 cartoon and still consider that the best of the 3 cartoons. But even taking that out of the equation, I still don't get that. But hey, different strokes for different folks.

2k3 April was no bueno. The ****ing color palette. Seriously, WTF.

Makes my eyes bleed. Way too pale, too goth. Neon everywhere. Yucky no-no.

I don't know if I'll ever talk to cubed again.

Anyway, I felt 2003 April had more personality than 2012 did- or does now anyway. I liked her nerdiness, her stubbornness. While the clothes could've been different, 2012 April’s fashion sense isn't that great either. I look more into the character and 2003 wins this round.

April in a her cover-alls is best, really. It's classic, like Superman's trunks.

Some things you just don't "fix".

I hate 2012's fashion too though, not a fan of her design at ll, she looks too...pan faced? Alien? Definitely not cute.
