But of recent stuff? I read absolutely everything that rebirth came out with and all of it's pretty good.

You are such a drama queen. The top 100 is still overwhelmingly Marvel. Civil War II outsold Batman #1 by about 100,000 copies. A mere 3 months ago DC wasn't selling **** outside of the bat family.

They knuckled down on their latest gimmick and have produced some good stories, but don't act like they're currently beating Marvel.

That being said, a lot of Marvel titles are headed straight for the crapper, I think. But they're still currently selling better, no debate.

Apparently you haven't seen the last few months of comic sales.

Comic sales in general are in the sh*tter. I had hope that Marvel's Star Wars would bring comics back but not really.

The only comic sales that matter is how well IDW TMNT is doing. Nothing else matters.

I don't know how this movie will turn out but there's definitely an anti-DC sentiment.

What about the good reviews for the Dark Knight trilogy?

every MCU movie on RT has a Certified Fresh and good ratings. I bet Wonder Woman will be the first Certified Fresh DC movie of the current DCU

Not every MCU movies DESERVES a "Certified Fresh" rating because there have been some real stinkers <cough Thor cough Thor 2 cough>.

But most people have an appetite for Marvel movies and are harsher on DC movies than may be warranted. DC's questionable choices for some characters and situations <cough Pa Kent cough "Martha" cough> simply aggravate the problem.

For all their faults, I prefer DC's characters and am much less antagonistic towards the DCEU than most people on here. I just wish DC would do a better job of representing.

"Martha"... gonna have a hard time defending that whenever my wife gets around to watching it with me.

I saw it last night and I liked it a lot. There were a lot of good performances and it was well directed, and the production design was great. Not everyone is going to like it, but my first impression was pretty positive.

For whatever reason, everyone is obsessed with Jared Leto, but if you know anything about the property it won't be surprising that he only plays a relatively minor role. Will Smith got a lot of screen time, but that's OK because he was pretty good, but Viola Davis, Cara Delevingne and Joel Kinnaman were on fire. Viola Davis was formidable.

I wonder why they even put Joker in this in the first place. He's so out of place and people won't get a good read on the actor by the small role he got.

Nolan's popular with Reddit types of people, so critics want to be on the "right side" of public opinion.

I've only seen The Dark Knight... good but not a masterpiece as people say.

The Nolan films came out nearly a decade ago now except for the last one in 2012. I don't see why you think those would be affected by what people think now.

The teens who criticize DC movies now were in elementary school when Batman Begins came out.

So I'm a "Reddit type of person?"

I just mean that the name Nolan brings interest to a film ("Christopher Nolan as a brand is very powerful"). He's a popular guy, mostly with younger people who think Inception is deep. Some critics want to be popular, and might look more favorably on his films and give it higher praise than they might otherwise.

Ah. I wasn't taken offense; I learned long ago a lot of people dislike Nolan's approach and style, especially the Batman movies.

I assumed people would call Nolan "anti-Reddit" but whatever.

I like Nolan well enough, but people act like his movies really make you think. Inception was fun (but not a 'thinking movie'), The Dark Knight kinda put me to sleep, but I really like Interstellar. A bit too melodramatic sometimes - and the spinning dock scene is kinda silly - but it's a very strong film.
