Just got back from seeing it. It got applause from the crowd. I liked it, it was fun.

The people who normally hate movies around here will hate it, and the people who like movies around here will like it.

Margo Robbie was great, Leto was great. My only issues were with the theater I was in, the screen was too dark and I missed a lot of action because the majority of the movie is at night.

That's one hell of a generalization. And that's come from me!

I hate this. I don't understand why night scenes in today's films can be so colorless. The audience isn't stupid, we get that it's nighttime if the sky is black. However, it's also kind of important that the audience can see what the hell is going on.
Every time I try to watch the seventh Harry Potter movie (DH pt. I) I never know what's going on for the first 30 minutes because the colors are really awful.

It was the theater's fault not the movie. The trailers before hand were dark too.

Oh.
Well still... it's a dumb way to color your film.

Ezzactly - so why were forty thousand articles published in the last nine hours about a hand-full of losers trying to end Rotten Tomatoes?

Because that sort of headline generates clicks. "Morons bitch about RT ratings, want it shut down!"
I know I clicked on at least one.

...Such as what? Batman v Superman to my knowledge was the only time something of that caliber occurred unless I'm mistaken.

Thoughts:
I liked it. It was different in a good way. Its hard to compare it to anything really. I had some issues with it like there was a bit of Will Smith playing Will Smith and no chain smoking which is a trademark of Deadshot and the lack of a mask in most of it. I did not care for Jared Leto's Joker because he sounded exactly like Jim Caray who was playing an 80s' punk version of The Joker. Amanda Waller was done well. A step up from Green Lantern(2011). Harley was fun, but I felt the over sexualizing of her was too much. The court jester outfit got a brief look and is preferred. I did not recall Enchantress and Rick Flagg having a romance in the comics. Also, it is confirmed the two nobodies die because it i has 'suicide ' in the title. Slipknot was only in like three scenes. Hope we get good notable characters if there is a follow up. Good seeing Bruce Wayne at the end. It reminds me of the scene in Justice League where Batman stated the public would be equally interested in their night time activities. I also appreciated the characterization used humanizing them all. Solid soundtrack despite not including the cover of 'I Started A Joke' in the film. B+

That was never intended for use in the film; Confidential Music arranged the piece for the 2015 Comic-con trailer and its popularity earned it a spot on one of the film's music albums.

LOL, how did I call this?

Will Smith plays Will Smith no matter what role he has in a movie. He essentially plays himself in every movie he's ever been cast in.

Just came back from seeing it.

Some quick spoiler free thoughts:

-I thought it was decent. High and above anything the DC Cinematic Universe has put out, but the bar for that is extremely low.
-Margo Robbie completely steals the show. Harleys a character that can quickly veer into camp or parody if not done properly and she nails it. Colour me impressed.
-Despite all the neon marketing, DC is still afraid of colour. 95 percent of this movie is set at night, which I'll forgive since it's a movie about villains. But this colour palate is gets exhausting real fast.
-At times it really felt like DC was really hoping to push the next Guardians of the Galaxy Soundtrack craze at the expense of the movie. I think in the first 15 minutes theres about 8 or 9 different songs. And it doesn't really let up much from there, either.
-Diablo came as a surprise. I really liked him.
-Some characters could be completely lifted out of the movie and it wouldn't make a difference (Killer Croc, Slipknot, Captain Boomerang...I'd even throw Katana into the mix, though she has a moment or two)
-After the first 20 minutes the movie goes into a complete tangled mess of leaping time and locations like crazy for about 10 minutes. Was really hard to gauge how much time was passing.
-Jared Leto's Joker was... underwhelming. Granted, he didn't have the screen time in this that other Jokers have had, but even so. Underwhelming is overwhelming. And I still hate how he looks.
-Will Smith is good at what he does. What you expect from him you'll get here.

I have more thoughts but I'm tired. Thems my two cents.
'Night all.

So, how much was in the trailers that wasn't in the film? This is always a fun game to play, especially when the film has gone under reshoots for questionable reasons.

He plays a much bigger asshole in this than I've ever seen him play before.

A few shots here and there - and different line readings.

Spoiler:
The ones I can remember are when they are all drinking at the bar, it just cuts to everyone with drink already in hand - HQ doesn't ask them what they want etc. There is a shot in the trailer of the joker with half his face burned or something, which isn't in the movie, and Will Smith doesn't say the infamous "some kind of suicide squad" line with the cigar in his mouth. And I don't think Enchantress says "Let's do something fun" at any point.

Oh, I also thought the script felt like it was adapted from a video game. Assemble your team, move here, fight this horde of bad guys, move here, now fight this group of bad guys, move here, fight the boss, the end.

As the person who has been anxiously awaiting this movie since it was announced like two years ago, I LOVED it.

I don't get everyone's "underwhelming" sense from Jared Leto. I thought he NAILED it. Also, for those saying he didn't have a lot of screen time, he had an appropriate amount considering he is not actually in the suicide squad. He took a side character role in it, and had multiple scenes. His performance was perfect. He is the closest a joker has been to the animated series. He was playful, and goofy (reaching out his hand for another character to kiss like a princess before sitting on them is so Joker esque I can't stand it). His voice could be high or low, and he had this growl to him. add in his constant costume changes (his last one was my favorite), and lethal gag tricks and my lord you have the Joker from Batman TAS.

Margot also killed it. To people saying she was over sexualiZed, read the new 52 comics. that's the source material. She's over sexualized in that, bring the issue up there. She played the Harley Quinn we have. Spoiler: we get to see Margot in the jester outfit.
She stole every scene she was in. Her comments were great. Her mannerisms were just incredibly Harley. And unlike the Arkham game series, she can do some damage. Kept her gymnastic skills, her traditional guns, and the baseball bat (with homage to her mallet) and displayed all of them.

My one critique is it got a little rapid in the middle. But the intro and the conclusion were great, the last scene being my favorite.

Also, the mid credit scene was perfect.

seeing it again tomorrow. If anyone who hasn't scene it wants to talk about it or ask anything, please feel free.

For those who've seen the film, anyone know what's up with Leto Joker?

Spoiler! There's one scene where he's trying to intimidate a man tied to his chair and Leto seems like he's making a gay seduction move on him? Moving his hands all over his shoulders, touching his face and sitting on his lap whilst their crotch meet together?? I don't even know what happened..

But that's my only complaint. The Squad members are mostly great tbh.

Batman v Superman had faulty villain (Lex Luthor Jr) and now Leto Joker in Suicide Squad.

I plan to see it again though. Love most of the cast.
