Man this show. Such a tease. Nothing for weeks on end, then a few episodes, then nothing. Is this normal? Cos I'm not a fan of it.

It started to be normal near the end of Season 1 and, to the best of my knowledge, a few animated shows fell into that pattern; even "Person of Interest" did that during Season 4. Then it was a mess waiting for the abbreviated Season 5.

Speaking of which, hopefully that's what Season 5 will be for TMNT. It's unlikely but after Person of Interest's fourth season finale aired (5/5/2015), we waited exactly a whole year (5/3/2016) until the next and final season aired! And it aired the 13 episodes in just 7 weeks! Hopefully that's how Season 5 of TMNT will go too after all these waits (20 eps. in 20 weeks or something close to that would be just fine with me mind you).

I'm predicting that the show will not have any long hiatuses in season 5 (>2 weeks) because firstly, season 5 will be a season of multi-parters and secondly, season 5 will only have approximately 7-8 months to air, presuming that season 4 finishes in late january/early feburary. If they air an episode every week, it will take up 5 months and that would leave 2-3 months for all the hiatuses combined.

Season 5 only having 20 episodes instead of 26 makes me fear longer rerun breaks, actually. If the stretched out 26 episodes as long as they, they'll do even worse for only 20

My last wish for the show is for season 5 to be 26 episodes

If season 5 is the last then they don't need to stretch it out, so hopefully there will be less breaks.

Do you think we will see a new TMNT show, I mean when this ends?

undoubtedly, but i wouldn't trust nick to know what to do with it.

it's pretty clear they don't care to put too much effort into turtles, as the movie division shows, and less severely, as the show goes.

why end at season 5, unless you have no more ideas?

TMNT can go on for 7 seasons and 10 seasons as has been showin in the past, if you have a clear enough vision. and i think this show lost it's vision early on, if it really had a clear one on where it was all going to go.

I agree, I think the Nick show is the weakest of all 3(still like it), and the CGI is no match for traditional animation. My worry is the next TMNT show will suck, and be more like the 2 dreadful new movies.

My fear is that they don't do anything with it at all and let the property die just like all their other properties.

I would rather that to be honest. Better than making a crappy show.

Just look at the movies, had they been your introduction to the franchise I know you would have hated it.

They can't do that. Nickelodeon put up $60 million to buy the product from Laird so that they, Paramount, their bosses at Viacom etc. could pick up on its latest success. They've had the TMNT franchise for over 5 years now so they can't afford to be lazy with it.

Again: $60 million! I know that with all the delays & lack of promotion among other things that Nick began to lose interest in the series before long, Paramount failed to make it big at the box office, IDW's success with the TMNT varies by who you ask; but they've spent too much money here to just sit back and eat it! I expect them to do something and, quite frankly, they have to.

Yep. As a fan, I'm willing to let it die rather than see endless crap come out.
and an ice cream kitty musical number with a crappy thing calling itself a song qualified as crap and out of ideas.

Why is IDW not doing good?

It's the one bright spot in corporate TMNT, cause they get it. and care enough to put some thought behind it and on where it's going...

Everything else is just handed off to lowest common denominator just to get something going and the results show it (in the case of the show, it took a while to degrade, but it IS degrading)

I don't care if it stays dead for years just as long as it does come back as something better.

The IDW comic is highly successful. Its going to make it to at least 100 issues (and it already has over 100 issues with all the specials and mini's, etc), and the story/writing for the most part has remained consistently good.

The IDW comic is definitely going to still be going on long after the Nick cartoon ends. I wouldn't be surprised if IDW TMNT has a 10 year run, it started back in 2011.

For the next shwo to be more succesful it must be more violent and dark like the 2003 series or IDW comics. But the current show can continue for years instead of ending so soon. Previous shows lasted for longer there is no reason for it to end on season 5.

I'd rather they did that too. As long as IDW is still going, I'm fine without another ongoing tv series.

Yeah, the IDW comics are great. As long as Viacom doesn't cancel them they'll keep coming for years to come.
