That does bring up the question though, where exactly does this place? I know they've said it before but I can't remember. It has to take place between Battle for New York and Annihilation Earth, or does it take place in the alleged alternate continuity of Amazing Adventures?

i know right!! i'm not sure who's been resurrected more ...their enemies? ...or Master Splinter?

if i had to guess i'd say it takes place in it's own continuity outside of the cartoons?
most if not all of the Amazing Adventures (and even New Animated Adventures) never really did seem to line up with the TV cartoon.
which was odd reading the comics after Leo was badly hurt and the Turtles had to retreat to Northampton.
issue after issue comes out with them still in NY and not even a mention of any of those events.
not even so much as a "some time before The Invasion" or anything.
