From the sound of the new show, like how it'll have more mystical content but not that crazy about how it's gonna be even younger and more light hearted..... All I can say on the new show is please don't screw it up! The last thing this franchise needs is to be taken even less seriously. I mean really, the series started out as comics - which was meant to be dark and yet people keeping slapping the "it's a kids show" label on it. As long as people keep saying it's a kids show and slapping that label on it, sadly I don't see a adult focused show coming out.... despite how much I want that to happen

It's worked the best when aimed at kids and you know it. The comics are just for people in their edgelord phase.

So many dropped story arcs that were just swept under the carpet.
Why do people keep saying things like this? What "dropped story arcs" have there been? The show still has one season left to possibly tie up some loose ends like April's mother or de-mutating some of the mutants who wanted to be human again, but other than that nothing has been, "dropped."

In fact if the show ended with Season 4, most of it would be pretty wrapped up already, but we still have 20 episodes left.

Yeah, because the Mirage and IDW comics are always so serious...

Well, we're all geeks here. It's just funny when people attack others' personal taste. Especially when that taste is the #1 reason this message board exists. Not to mention a truly unique indie comic that produced about 300 issues over the course of 2 decades, told a wide variety of stories and gave us some of the best looking black & white sequential art ever (especially the duo-tone stuff).

Whereas Power Rangers is a poorly acted, cheaply made cheese-fest. But if you like it, that's cool. I did too, once upon a time.

Lol, what? Timothy says hi.

Stop trolling. One minute you insist they'll demutate Mutagen Man and wrap up whatever with April's mom because omg they just HAVE TO, even though they don't.... the next minute you act like season 4 could have wrapped up the series just fine even though they left all of those plots unresolved.

Your mouth needs to be locked.

This is a plotline? Don promised to de-mutate him. It might still happen since the show has 20 episodes left. I'd love to know what story arc Mutagen Man had. He was a fanboy kid who became a monster mutant...that's about the extent of it.

LOL, what? The show hasn't ended yet. It has 20 episodes left. If/when the show ends and there's some blatant leftover plots then you can talk. April's mother is indeed one of the big loose ends I want to see wrapped up, and I think it can and will.

Marketers that don't take advantage of a surprise audience by making superhero clothing in their sizes, are crap marketers.
Ayuuuuup.

If you want to make money at stuff like this, you need to be adaptive. Connecting with an audience you didn't foresee is a good thing. Any marketers who can't get creative and take advantage of a happy surprise are hacks with no skills or ideas.

Though Ciro clearly did try to keep as much Mirage alive in this show as possible, so he'd know firsthand if there was corporate pushback. If that is the case, I don't have the best feeling about the new show at this point.

Hey, I've got a li'l secret for you.

people are allowed to have different tastes and like different things. whatever one personally considers "best" is wholly subjective.

The comics were a mixed bag because they were... literally made by a mixed bag of creators, over its entire run. The Eastman/Laird/Lawson stuff absolutely works, though. It works because it's a sharp parody of the era of comics and pop culture it came from, and then managed to exceed those expectations and tell a really solid story about family, loyalty, brotherhood, and the consequences of vengeance.

You're entitled to disagree, like anyone, but I think history has shown the strongest material, as in the best actual stories, in the property tend to follow Mirage's lead as much as possible.

Like seriously, air 4 episodes and take a 4 month hiatus every 4 episodes pretty much or close to it.
That has nothing to do with Ciro and his team. This is solely Nick's fault. If it was the production staff's doing, then Korea wouldn't have finished airing season 4 months before the US.

Ciro said years ago that he wanted five seasons to tell his story and he got it.

The series is still going. How can something be dropped when the show is still in production? This can only apply if the show ended already.

The "dropped story arcs" people must not understand that things don't have to end when a season ends, but can go on throughout the series overall.

Even then pretty much all the "big" plots of Seasons 1-4 are done. We're now in the aftermath of Shredder, so they'll wrap up the remaining villains and hopefully the last few plots.

Seeing as how certain plots have been left untouched for like 3-4 years, I'd say it's a fair criticism.

There is nothing like that besides people hung up over Timothy.

Most shows end with some unresolved plots, 2k3 did too but as long as they're not huge cliffhangers it doesn't matter as you can fill the gaps yourself.

Newtralizer and April's origin/Mom are the two other main offenders, at this point.

Plus all the stuff that they've wrapped up, but let drag out waaaay too long. The Kraang, TigerClaw's past, constantly writing Karai out of the story so as to keep the status quo.

*clears throat* Here is a list of plot points to my knowledge that need resolving:
  • Curing Timothy
  • Newtrailizer's fate
  • Mrs. O'Neil (if Buried Secrets didn't resolve it, that is)
  • Mutagen canister spill of season 2 (there's still some out there)
  • Confirmation of the Kraang being turned back to Utrom/killed

These are the bare minimum needing to be addressed, except for maybe the fourth bullet as it's been used sporadically. As Nines and others have pointed out, it's been a while, especially for the first two. I know there's issue as Roger Craig Smith and Danny Trejo are respectively busy in other acting based shows/cartoons, but there needs to be an end goal as both haven't been used since the second season. No, the brief mentioning of Timothy when April went "dark" doesn't equate to anything outside trying to bring April back to normal.

Not really, imo. I would only say this if the show ended already.

The only storyline I could see not being completed, technically, is Timothy's because of what Donnie said...that it'll take 70 years for him to thaw out.
