Okay so a couple days ago I'm on Facebook and decide to start chatting with a fellow young TMNT fan I've been meaning to talk to for a while. Turns out this person is going to Comic Con this year, which has me super psyched cause I'm gonna get to hang out with some awesome people!!!

Later that day I go to my sister's to hang out with my folks and the kids, where I mention the new friend I made online. Immediately my mom says "I was hoping you'd have made friends at that Star Program down the street from your apartment." which is basically code for "You should go hang out with people around here who have mental issues just like you." I know she means well, but Christ my mom is such a retard!!! She might as well have told my overweight cousin to go befriend some other people with eating problems.

Yea, I'll admit calling her that was a bit much. I think I was taking some of the drama I had been through recently out on her, which isn't cool. I told her how I feel though about wishing she'd show more enthusiasm for my internet/pop culture lifestyle instead of forcing me to live the quiet, bible beating life she wants me to live. You just don't force your will on people like that, and honestly she's kind of the reason I'm starting to hate religion.

I know the feeling believe me. To this day my grandmother still does not know I am Wiccan- and I intend to keep it that way for that reason. I largely dislike most religious leanings due to being forced to sit through church services growing up when I felt much of it was irrelevant to current society as well as hypocritical.

I've been on a decline all week of getting sicker and sicker (with the same thing my dad has, likely) and I finally hit the point of my first instructor asking me why I came (nicely, she's aware that I wasn't well on Tuesday), and told me to cancel the appointment I have with a second instructor. I was already not planning on taking his class. Though, it means being backed up on presenting my thumbnails to him.

At this point, I'm nearly losing my voice and my cough makes it worse.

Yeah my family's church kind of frowned on that sort of thing. I used to read random Bible passages in context of modern society and write notes about how completely irrelevant they become. Or I would doodle or work on D&D stuff on the back of the invitation cards or church bulletins.

Geargrinder extreme- 11 hrs with NO break on a Friday right before my weekend off and when I have to go get groceries before even going home! Not to mention that I have my game tomorrow which means I will be trekking across town on my day off. After getting no rest for most of the past week due to staying late every day.

If I could, I'd gladly take a few of those excess work hours off your hands, since I don't really have any of my own, and give you the 15 min break I often skip.

Work grind of my own, being the continued lack of work. It's getting a little angering that many of us are being left without paychecks because the company is trying to save a buck, but do the executives who make millions, the very people who could AFFORD a cut, take a pay cut? Hell no. Eff them all. Why is this even allowed in this culture.

Gear-grind update. Game was canceled literally at the last minute, and I didn't find out until I had already lugged all my game materials to the library halfway across town from home. I generally take all my character info, dice bag, a box of pencils and pens, and four or five game books, as well as extra paper, a drink, and my Fire tablet and other aids, so it's a pretty heavy load. And now that I'm the DM for a separate group (after the main "host" had to start splitting the group when it got too big to manage at one table) that means a lot of extra campaign materials, too.

I got there only to find out he had sent an e-mail the night before saying he was sick and could not host/set up the game as planned, so had canceled the entire meet. Which sucked, but apparently only one other person hadn't gotten the memo. I got the earlier email about the game a week ago, but that was the last time I had checked. So I ended up sitting there playing on my Fire in their WiFi, before I finally got bored and went across the street to the movie theater. The up side was I finally got to see Ghost in the Shell, which was decent, but it was just a huge let-down after all the planning and expecting to run the game.

My back is killing me. My herniated disk has moved and it's pushing against the nerve root again, so not only is my back caning, but I'm getting referred pain in my legs. I think I need another round of physio.

That sucks! My mom had a herniated disk almost ten years ago; she got surgery for it, though.

Saw one lone bag of the no longer made limited edition Chili Nut M&M's that must have gotten lost among other simlary colored bags... and it expired in November. Dammit.

If it was just one month past I might have gone for it and just asked for a discount, but that far past... didn't want to risk wasting the money since chocolate doesn't keep like other candy.

Disappointed. I want that flavor back.

That's probably something I'll have to do one day, but I want to avoid it for as long as possible. Physio helped a lot last time, and I got a good three years out of it, but everything has migrated back to the homeland now.

Women who play at being interested only to actually just be playing you because you treat them decently... Seems to be a reaccuring thing for me here lately. Spend time getting to know them, express interest, by all appearances interest is expressed in return until its not. Or they surprise you with the tidbit of info that they're seeing someone already.

If you aren't single and your s/o isn't telling you that you're smart and beautiful, they have issues....

Currently at the hospital, visiting my Grandma. She had another stroke, and she's in a semi-comatose state. We don't know what's going to happen, we'll discuss it with the doctors later today.

I hate seeing her suffer like this, she doesn't deserve to feel the pain she's feeling. She's a kind-hearted and loving person who never wronged anyone. All my life I've known her, she's lived a life full of pain and suffering. She's had many diseases and health issues. I don't want her to have to keep feeling like that, but I don't want to lose her. I love her, even though I probably didn't do a good job of showing it. I don't even remember the last time I told her "I love you". I regret I wasn't a better grandson during my early youth, and I feel like I don't deserve to even be by her side. There's nothing I can do. I feel hopeless.

Oh man, I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm sure she knows you love her, there are more ways than stating it outright. I'm sure she appreciates you being by her side, that's what you can do, keep her company, text her sometimes (ask if a member of staff can read it out to her).

I'm sorry you're both going through this right now, you'll be in my thoughts (and prayers if you want). *hugs*

Thank you for your kind words. These past few days have been rough and I've been needing comfort.

Don't know what to do while I wait here, so reading and posting here is all I can do to pass the time. I don't want to think just about what's going on, but it's been incredibly hard.
