Yeah. It's best watched at Christmas time/end of the year, but I had to skip through that one particular part.

I only saw it once years ago from a video rental place (remember those?) so my menory of the characters is a bit sketchy. But yeah I DO remember Hana being a bit dramatic at times. But I really liked the movie. I mostly tend to prefer more "serious" anime most of the time so it was right up my alley.

Gear grinder: That the insurance company keeps calling Mom and wants to have someone come to the home to get a urine sample and bloodwork to both Mom and Dad. Each time Mom has asked if this is mandatory and they have said no, but they keep calling. It really irks me that companies are doing this because it really shouldn't be up to them if someone has a doctor and gets checked by them. I tell you, health care in this country is a joke and it doesn't matter who you vote for or how many promises people make to make things better. It will never get better.

Good chance I'll lose my job soon because my mom is quitting hers soon [I work at the same place she does, I just never see the boss because my job is when the place is closed] and with there being nothing else around here that I'm capable of doing and no transportation I'm probably never going to enjoy having an income again lmao

On the bright side if mom quits and can't find a new job we'll be forced to move out of this hellhole no matter what grandma wants she won't be able to stop it

And then we'll move where the laws are on our side and everything will be better

I go in once a week to clean when the office is closed. I don't make a lot of money but it's enough to pay for what I need without being a burden about it.

The fact that most modern animes are doing only 13 episodes per season.

At least it wasn't HALF a mouse. Then you have to worry about what ate the other half..... (LOL!)

Gear grind. Memorial Day weekend and graduation, all on the same weekend as our anniversary. I have to work on our anniversary Sunday due to schedule changes because of all the kids being off for graduation. Crap, there goes MY weekend! And we are already busy AF- in fact today was another 11 and 1/2 hr shift! So freaking tired.....

lol Ew. Well, better in the trash can than stuck in the walls!

Although at this point, I don't care if there are any dead ones in our walls. (But if there are I haven't smelled anything, thank god.) Ever since I put out new bait, from an idea I saw online, the mouse activity (esp sounds from the walls and attic) seems to have quieted down. *fingers crossed*

Grind... that time right before the you-know-what is due and I keep feeling like I want to eat everything in the house, but esp stuff we don't have. *sigh*

Agreed. My grind on that matter lately has been sort of the opposite. No appetite. I nibble about half my dinner and then lose interest. Have about three days worth of leftovers in the fridge. Plus when I get off it I get- shall we say, really "hot" in certain respects and it can be frustrating when I just don't have the energy to do anything about it, or the Mr's meds prevent his active assistance (or both).

Leftovers?? Where?? lol

My brother-in-law, bless his heart, come home this evening with some kind of take out for dinner, that I think was... Indian? And when he was putting away the left overs offered I could have some if I wanted. Some kind of spicy rice stuff and these nice oily fried pastry-ish things with some kind of veggie filling. Omgawd...

But I'm being good and resisting eating the rest. It's like I don't even actually feel hungry now, but still really craving some unknown thing. Ugh. Drives me nuts because I'm not generally a big eater anyhow, I'm one of those who will forget to eat... until this. But it isn't often this intense.

No, it was a whole mouse and was disposed of, so that's good. My fear was that I had stepped on it because I didn't notice it while coming around the car. But I think if I had stepped on it, I would have felt it.

He's been cooking on the grill alot lately, since his mom sent us another big box of Omaha meats and other stuff. He did these stuffed sole fillets with garlic and herb rice a few nights ago, and we had pork chops, and then grilled chicken the two nights before that. Steaks night before last that our neighbor brought down. And tonight we are going to do a stirfry with some beef tips from the Omaha box and some udon noodles and stirfry veggies I bought yesterday. And potstickers. Tomorrow night we will be having pot roast and veggies (the last of the Omaha stuff) for our anniversary.

Well that was why I said "at least it wasn't" lol. I've come across half-eaten mouse remains a few times when we were living with my grandmother after we got married. Birds and other critters too. But that was because we had our cat Mischief then and he fancied himself a "big game hunter". Mostly he just played with and killed them but once in a while he would eat part of the kill(and leave the rest for us to find).

Yeah, I think that would have been even freakier if it had been a half one.

No stranger to half eaten mice... Having had two former stray cats who were allowed to remain indoor/outdoor, yeah, they liked to help try to contribute to the family by leaving mice on the doorstep. Often partly eaten, sometimes whole.

Although if you've only found or been brought mice by cats, consider yourself lucky... Our last former stray would once in a while leave RABBITS on the doorstep. She'd eat the face and leave the rest.

Felt bad for the bunnies, but that girl was a PRO. Were we living during a famine, I supposed that would have been useful. If desperate enough we could at least have had rabbit soup. (Sure there are hunting dogs, but they need an owner with them. A cat? Just send out a skilled one to do it herself. )

Speaking of soup... Duckie, those meals sound awesome. And happy anniversary!

Thanks! Tomorrow will be 17 years for us. And the stirfry turned out great! I forgot to do the gyoza(potstickers) but I don't think we need them. The beef tips had a mushroom wine sauce and it makes for an interesting mix with the teriaki for the udon. I'm happy how it came out.

Food is so expensive in Norway :

30 krones for a mango (it was on sale for 10 krones , needless to say I bought 5)

40 krones for a large Pågen sandwich bread (I buy'em 50% when they're expired)

The problem is that "Rema" and "Norgesgruppen" grocery chains own all of Norway , they call them "food mobsters" cuz they set the prices and consumers have little choice...can't even get common items such as large bottle Dr Pepper or Pepsi 4-pack.

Dr. Pepper isn't a common soda in Norway, though. It's fairly recent we've started brewing our own instead of importing it, same with Mt. Dew. And most larger stores have a 4-pack of 1.5L Pepsi or Coke (some have 8-packs), unless you shop at local small stores like Joker and nærbutikken, cause then its a space issue. Especially when the store is under 100m² so it can be open on sundays.

4 pack or 6 pack of *Pepsi Max* yes.....grocery stores are crawling with those.....but not *regular* Pepsi 4 pack of 1.5 litre bottles....that hasn't been available for yrs and yrs in Norway , that is a fact.

5 pack of small Japp ice cream bars , almost 80 krones (Japp is similar to Mars bars , btw.....anyway 80 krones is 10$ !)

If you want a beer then it's quickly 80-100 krones at restaurants , eating out is also expensive.
