Most viewers back in 1989 were children without any idea of the comic, less there was an Internet for discussion.

Well, I don't see why it would matter anyway because Usagi Yojimbo translates to rabbit guardian anyway. And I think the Turtles are dressing as samurai to blend in since in Usagi's world, ninja are considered the enemy based on the comic and what happened in the 2003 cartoon.

Yes, but Usagi Yojimbo fans would probably feel it pays better tribute to the Usagi Yojimbo comics by separating the comic title and the character's name.

Imagine Leonardo crossing over in some other series & introducing himself like this- "I am Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, nice to meet you."

Are the turtles supposed to talk Japanese with Usagi (even if it's English to us)?

In the OT, Raph made a reference to that. Pretty much pointing out the absurdity of a character from a dimension based in Edo Japan who "of course" speaks English.

Might be just the action figure called that. After all, his 2003 figure was named that too and they used the Miyamoto name in the show.

At least, I hope so.

I see the point, but I doubt this will happen and that Nick will remain faithful to Usagi as they have with other things.

English for the audience, yes (and Raphael would break the fourth wall). No idea if it was supposed to be Japanese in the lair.

Man, I didn't know Usagi Yojimbo was the title of the comic and not the character....

Is he addressed as Miyamoto Usagi in the comic and not Usagi Yojimbo? Its not a job title or a sir-name, or its not like a superhero title like Spiderman is Peter Parker?

Got that part, thank you. Is he addressed as such in the cartoon or is he addressed as
Miyamoto Usagi?

He's adressed Miyamoto Usagi, except the 1987-1996 series and the 1989 action figure

I'm pretty sure he mentioned something like that a couple of other times. Once I remember the question being asked why are the guys speaking English if they're from ancient Japan. Raphael said, "This show can't afford subtitles". lol

News about "Strike Hard!"

Creators: Joe Ksander & Kevin Adams.
Runtime: 4m 38s

Quote:
Riding on the wave of success, Nickelodeon has created several spin-offs and merchandise (toys, video games) including the short films that feature our heroes in brand new adventures, like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Short "Strike Hard", where the Ninja Turtles and Krang take off on an epic high-speed chase through NYC. Come and watch it before the open-air screening of Leap! on the Pâquier.

Michelangalo's legs are so skinny in that pic. I wonder how it will actually look in the finished short.

Alright, so I guess it seems that while one of previous the shorts used The Kraang, this just seems to use Krang the individual. Not really sure why I find that noteworthy...

You find it notworthy beause from 1987 to 1996 i and krang were allies fighting the turtles and it remind you of that time. Also this is not the 1987 krang because as you see the robot is somehow different than the one krang had in 1987. This robot dont wear sunglasses and it's legs are not as big . He is the Krang of another dimension. Possibly a krang that i will meet in the near future and then we will team up again to defeat the turtles!

I thought you were only the Nickelodeon Shredder and not the other versions.
