Since these episodes take place in the future, I wonder if we will get the Nick version of Mezcaal, the mutant coyote from the future timeline of the archie comics.

Who is that female mutant that is hanging with Old Raph in the previews, hard to make out what type of animal she is.

Some people say she's a meerkat

I wish she's Alopex.

Maybe she lost all of her fur from the nuclear radiation in the apocalyptic wasteland?

JJ said she's not Alopex. She's just a new character.

so what's the best (most well-rounded) season of this show? I'm trying to give it another shot to get into it

I would say season one, the writing is strongest there because some writers left the following season.

Overall season one, by far. Season 4 and 5 have had all the crucial emotional moments though.

It sounds like you've tried before, but couldn't get into it, correct?

If that's the case, give season 5 a shot. It's all mini-arcs that are mostly self-contained.

The problem with jumping into any other season is that they are entrenched in continuity. Season 3 picks up after the dramatic season 2 finale. The first half of Season 4 is a reaction to the Season 3 finale. Season 2 might work on its own, but the best storylines continue arcs that began in season 1.

But season 5 is pretty stand alone, the major exception being the first arc. But the Monster arc, the Usagi arc, Lone Rat and Cubs, the crossover, are all pretty self-contained and have been really well received (from what I've seen). Hell, you might even jump to the very end and watch the future arc this Friday!

You also might try the S3 finale (324-326), cause I think they play like a movie about the Triceratons coming to Earth, and rather than wrapping the third season I think it serves more as a prologue for season 4.

But I think that's your best bet; find some of these mini-arcs that play like movies and give it another shot. What are your tastes? If you like horror, check out the Monster arc. If you're a Usagi fan, DEFINITELY watch that arc. If you're an 80s TMNT fan, give the crossover a shot. If you want a great Splinter/TMNT story, watch "Lone Rat and Cubs." If you're into all of the classic dark-future stories (SAINW, Future Shark), then check out the 2012 future arc on Friday.

That's my two cents, anyway.

Although the only reason I don't recommend season 1 is because it sounds like you tried that already, but couldn't get into it. Might be me misreading. That's the season that got me hooked on the show!

For my money, the Karai story that runs through S1-2 is peak TMNT. When I try getting friends my age into a cartoon, those are the episodes I watch with them, and it usually works.

With the last sundays episodes, they always release them 6 hours before the premiere, so maybe it will be up at 3 PM. But since this time it's Nicktoons, and iTunes follows the premieres of Nickelodeon, we can't be 100% sure if they will appear

Heh. Well spotted. Second shot of the teddy warhead.

I wonder about the location where Raph quotes "Lovely Day...". It is also seen in another shot of the 'meerkat' map mutant posing for action. The tiled floor looks familiar.
