That logo's exceptionally pleasant to look at.

In other words, I like it.

The logo that's used here for 1987 is often placed on 'retro' merchandise these days, like these playing cards for example.

Neca used it on this year's SDCC set, I believe I read somewhere that they were not allowed to use the original cartoon logo (that's used here for 1984 now).

I guess it would have made more sense to use: 1987 (original cartoon) > 1997 (Next Mutation) > 2003 (4Kids cartoon) > 2012 (Nick cartoon) > 2018 (Rise)

But since the Next Mutation and 2003 series are almost never mentioned anymore on official stuff I guess it's only logical they used the comics and movie Turtles.

Anyway, so far I do like the Rise logo!

Yeah, just the TV series. Or even just the animated series 1987 (original cartoon) > 2003 (4Kids cartoon) > 2012 (Nick cartoon) > 2018 (Rise)

The movie logo definitely has no business being on there. No other movie stuff is. Unless these are the past iterations they're drawing inspiration from for this new series? Unlikely, but if so be very afraid

I think I like it. Need to see a better quality image to really judge it.

"The Next Mutation" calls back to the "Mutation in Progress" marketing they did in the build up to the 2K12 show. I bet they didn't even think about the old TV series. No one else does

I hope we see some actual character design work soon, but I'm guessing Toy Fair (or just prior) will be where they do that.

It's not that hard to understand what they're doing here, the first 2 are the classics (albeit wrong) Turtles, the comics and the TV show that started it all, the other 3 are what's under their belt, it's "their" Turtles, that's why they used the movie one, because it's part of their heritage.

Give it time. Right now the 2K3 show is full of dated 2000 cheese. Sure the 80s show is even more dated but that 80s/90s retro stuff is making a comeback.

When the kids watching the 2K3 grow up there'll probably be a retro 2000s comeback and that show will be all the rage. And by kids I'm referring to those whose first ever exposure to the turtles was the 2K3 show. Not anyone here.

Actually, I'm 34 years old and the 2003 series is what got me into the TMNT fandom. Although I really loved this series, 2012 just blew me away. The 2003 one will always hold a special place in my heart, 2012 made me love the Turtles even more. I did grow up around the 80s version, though. I watched it but it never turned into anything more than the other miscellaneous shows I watched on Saturday mornings as a kid.

While the terms "lighter" and "younger" are worrisome, I'm hopeful we will get something more akin to say, The Batman or Justice League Action in terms of tone. There's not much for us to worry about til we actually see something.

I don't think it's even that. The logos shown are for all the parts of the franchise they're licensing at the moment (it is a licensing show after all). Yes there's some other niche licenses (like NECA doing the first movie) but pretty much everything at the moment is Mirage, FW and the relaunched stuff.

The photo is so grainy and low resolution it's like I'm looking at a UFO or Bigfoot.
Is the new show even real? It's starting to feel like an urban legend.

It's a pic someone took with their cell phone, it's not something officially posted. This was for merchandize investors only, not for fans. It's basically someone leaking a pic.

In this day and age, we have cellphones that can take better pictures then that.

It's interesting that one of the taglines is that there will be many new mutants and, "secrets under their lair in NYC."

Kind of reminds me of the Notes of the Underground eps in the 2k3 series, before the fall of the crystal civilization there was a whole underground working city down there. See the Season 3 episode for the flashback

Not me. Some little low rez flip phone like mine probably took that. lol (Or they simply did it too fast, I guess. Makes sense I suppose if you have to be sneaky.)

Oh right, forgot this was all about the licenses, yeah that makes sense, it's their lines, all of them, that's why the movie logo appears, it was part of their licensing after all, and the other ones are the logos used for licensing of lines from those years, even the NECA SDCC turtles used the 1987 logo that appears here.

I thought the voice-actors from the recent live-action films brought a lot of personality to the roles and it would be nice for them to do this new series. It would be kind of like when Matthew Lillard became the voice of Shaggy after playing him in live-action form on the big-screen.

If the designs were inspired by those films, or the Turtles at least look and act older again, that would be pretty cool to bring those actors in.

Although this whole "younger" thing keeps making me picture them looking like 8-year-olds. Which obviously wouldn't work then, but I hope younger-yet looking Turtles isn't the case. (2012 has been fun, but I'd like to go back to the young adult seeming TMNT now, please...)
