If black april's design matches the early mirage I can live with it, but Raph as the leader? That's a sh-tty change I don't think I'll be able to overlook unless it's very subtle and not total reversed roles.

I think Eric Bauza as Splinter is the perfect choice, even if he was TigerClaw, he's got a lot of range.

Wish they would've given us a look at the character designs with this announcement.

I don't like Raph being the leader or his voice actor. I'm a big fan of Schwartz but think he would've been better as Michelangelo than Leo. Not a fan of how they describe Leo's character either. The actors voicing Michelangelo and Donatello seem like good fits based on the stuff I've seen them in before.

Cool that Rob Paulson is going to be the voice director.

I'm sure April being African-American in the show will cause unnecessary backlash.

Nick probably wants to make up for the lack of screentime that Raphael got in the 2k12 series.

Out of all of the brothers, he had the least amount of episodes that were centered around him. Additionally, he had the least amount of importance/relevance that related to the main plot.

So I'm glad their going to change it up. In fact, I think I might be looking forward to this upcoming show.

Yeah for the moment it's the only actor I'm glad to hear his presence on the cast. Ben called my attention but I don't know if he will do the same acting as he did with Randy Cunningham and Dewey from Ducktales. Waiting to hear the others with their characters.

I'm calling it now, Raph as leader is only in the 1st season as we see Leo grow into the role.

Honestly, I liked what I saw with the new info for the most part. I'm happy that Mikey will be exploring his artistic side(and probably less dumb this time). I'm even fine with Raphael being the leader of a new version. But, I really hope that they're not switching the personalities of Raph and Leo(although I guess it doesn't quite sound like they are). Not quite a deal breaker for me, but I'm even less fine with this than the possibility of the show being a Teen Titans Go clone.

Sitting here scrolling through both articles and posts speechless. Usurping Leo like that and trying to change who he is, is probably one of the very LAST things I'd ever want from anything TMNT. If this is legit, my heart kinda breaks for him reading this.

As one of those people for who he is my lifelong fave, it feels like kind of a slap in the face. Maybe not true, but it at least reeks of a major Raph fan behind the creation, and the worst sort who doesn't like that the brother Raph butts heads with is the oldest and leader. (At the moment, if feels like this may be off putting to me for similar reasons as the 2007 film...)

Although if this is real... I feel for Raph fans to, as it also stands to ruin him as well. Because guess who gets to step into the role of being the responsible one, which doesn't really leave much space for his more wild, less controlled demeanor. Either boring responsible Raph, OR Raph who keeps almost getting everyone hurt because he's not responsible enough? Great...


I guess Donnie and Mikey are at least lucky. Donne same old thing. (Guess no one knows how to expand on him even in ways that work?) Mikey gets the only real bonus of actually exploring the artistic thing.

Um... I don't think they have that in mind, Indigo. I also doubt that the showrunner has some sort of personal agenda.

Besides, I'm sure Jester is right. It might only be a temporary role change.

I think one of the major things that bugs me about all of this is just that once again we're getting that Michael Bay-ism portrait of Raphael with him being the "biggest" out of the four. I don't need to see physically that Raphael is the strongest and sometimes more hot-headed ... give me writing to demonstrate that as oppose to the typically "muscle-bound" design.

I'm realllllly hoping they don't give Raphael that ridiculous bandanna from those movies either.

Raph is my favorite turtle but he already gets too much focus in most incarnations, it's usually Donatello/Leonardo who get the short end of the stick and if they take away that from Leonardo then what will he have?

If Leonardo is a rebel then what's the real change?

The press release could just say "In this incarnation Leonardo wears a red bandanna and uses sai's and Raphael uses a blue bandanna and uses a sword in this incarnation"


I really want to see the designs now, especially April's, I want her to have Mirage big poofy curly hair.

Let's not forget that they'll be using their "inner mystic" powers and finding the mythical things of NYC.

If executed correctly it could totally work but on paper it sounds like its very easy to mess up and be left with something that just isn't TMNT anymore. We won't really know until we see the first trailer and/or episode though.
