It's just something to be curious about. Like will they go "all the way" or make it more ambiguous, since this is the first time a character who has been around for over 30 years like April is getting a drastic race change.

I mean I'm trying to be as subtle here as I possibly can. I'm sure everyone understands what I mean.

This is something that should have been done in one of the TMNT versions a long time ago, given the history of April's design in the mirage TMNT comics. Looking forward to the new April design.

But April wasn't originally black..... if you have ever seen pics of early 80s women, even the white women had hair like that one single cover of April colored with a darker skin tone....

Or listen to any interview with Kevin or Peter when someone asks that question and they say no....this is change for the sake of change.

April's ethnicity was never directly addressed by the text, thus leaving her open to interpretation. So tradition is the only reason she's always been portrayed as white.

This is no different.

No.
Hamato Yoshi being Splinter and omission of Oroku Nagi were done with the clear purpose - to remove gore from the cartoon incarnation.

Whether it was good change or not, is a matter of preference, but calling it "change for the sake of change" is not only missing the point of change, but also an attempt to twist narrative in the favor of your personal agenda.

Reboots are, also, not exactly "change for the sake of change", because it would be rather hard to sell an idea of telling the same story over and over again in the same fashion.

I know she wasn't originally black, what I was referring to was the history of the character (Where colorists sometimes mistakenly drew her with darker skin) And the person April is based on (who was a person of color).
