It was pretty common sense Leonardo would eventually grow into the leadership role. I guarantee you it'll be a character arc in Season 1 with Raph messing up and then realizing Leo is better suited to lead the team, with Leo gaining more confidence and taking charge.

I missed the part where they said 'at least in the Beginning'...I was thinking Raph would stay that way. Maybe they go to all the other incarnations in their dimension travels and notice somethings up

The first wave is usually the turtles, two villains and April

After that I'm guessing a teaser before SDCC and by SDCC a full trailer, I'm guessing the show debuts September.

April has red shadows on her hair, as long as they keep that it's cool, it's enough April, I'm more concerned about her "green lantern Bat" right now. Her being black in this version is no different than Raph not having his sai's. It's fine for this interpretation. Raph being leader is the only no-no but if that changes then I have little to no complains so far.

As Donnie is a soft shell turtle, I guess his shell could get damaged easily so he will have these attachments to protect his shell.

I went to the Donatello part and lol it was only the character art reveal and some people are already asking if there will be apritello romance in this show 😂Obviously they can't say any kind of spoiler at this rate. But watching their reaction I can guess the answer is a 'no'. Anyway it would be cool a nerd and badass bromance for them, although I wouldn't care another apritello romance.

I thought Donnie’s shell would be fully removable. One will have “personality” even. I’m picturing Iron Man suits for some reason. Only shells.

No his shell won't be removable

He will have different attachments that will protect his shell and they will have extra stuff inside them, one being that drone carrying April in that pic.

It blows my mind people think there will be no Shredder just because its starting off with this new Baron Draxum character. Each new Turtle series does tend to introduce one or two new breakout characters (IDW did this with Old Hob, Nick with Dogpound, Fishface and Tiger Claw, 4kids with Hun and Bishop, etc), but then they also use all the old characters too.

The overall look and style feels like something Gendy Tartakovsky and Craig McCracken would design.

Raph wielding tonfas and Mikey wielding a yoyo is cool IMO. I don't mind the Turtles going beyond their traditional weapons since relying on a sai/nunchuk/etc can lead to crippling overspecialization. A tonfa is just as good as a sai, and it seems Mikey is a rope/chain-weapon dude with him using a nun-chuk, kusarigama and now a yoyo.

Leo looks creepy, I think its the red marks on his face. I don't think it suits him.

I need to see more of Donnie, he looks like he's hiding stuff underneath his shell and his stoic look. While tech-oriented heroes can use gear/armor/mech (Tony Stark, Cyborg) Donnie needs to be more careful, it's not something that should really define him. (The odds are good he's going to get a story where he loses his tech and must rely on his wits to get by)

April is cute.

Splinter looks like he popped out of a John Kricfalusi show. I hope that design can be improved on, or at least he smiles a bit.

I think it's not too bad, but I need to see a video for the animation.
