Platinum Dunes films comic or storybook adaptions?

*Original TMNT Cartoon Fan* · 02-11-2018, 05:14 AM

Are there any comic or storybooks adaptions of the Platinum Dunes films? Just wanted to know.

AlZarkovski · 02-11-2018, 05:58 AM

Yes.

There are no comics as far as I know, Bobby said they didn't think it was worth it. IDW's direct movie adaptations tends to sell poorly, so they simply declined the offer to make one.

No self-respecting artist would want to draw those horrible designs anyway.

Well... At least Sophie drew it well, that's all one can hope for from a drawing of those designs.

I still have nightmares of the Hulk-like Turtles with nostrils.

Yeah, if there's anyone who can make those designs more palatable, it's Sophie.

Yeah exactly. They should have just had her do the tie-in comics. Then again I didn't know that blurb about IDW's movie tie-ins not doing well.

Santolouco also drew some Bay TMNT.

If the turtles looked more like that I doubt anyone would call them monsters

Found the answer to my own question.

I will say... possibly the only good thing about BayTurtles is the logo. That's a sweet font for TMNT.

Emil Cabaltierra did it well:

I would not mind new adventures based on the Platinum Dunes TMNT.

A 'different dimensions' style comics series would be awesome.
Each issue could focus on a different version of the TMNT.

Or maybe something like what BOOM is doing with Power Rangers Shattered Grid.
