I doubt she's asexual she just hasn't found the right women yet for her "frozen sexual awakening." Disney is probably waiting till Frozen 3 to give her a girlfriend, it's probably not the right time in 2019.

But in the 2020's we'll surely have our first lesbian Disney princess/queen character. I wonder how the soccer moms will react when Elsa kisses another female on-screen, will they cover the eyes of 7 year old Little Timmy?

Elsa is a LGBT icon and seeing her be a lesbian would feel natural for the story. She'll be the Queen of lesbiana with a lesbian lover. Hopefully it happens in Frozen 3 because you know they will make one.

Aside from jokes about recommending some good Lesbian porn for out thirsty 'cubed friend, I'd say that if Disney wants to make some Lesbian heroine, they most likely will use Pixar movie for this. There is less association with core Disney princess and Pixar things were always a bit more unique and daring than cookie cutter Disney stuff.

I think Disney will let the Eternals movie in the MCU pave the way for homosexual representation in their brands.

Depending on how easily that goes over will determine how long it takes for Cubed's Elsa/Anna fanfic to become reality.

Soccer moms will refuse to go the movie with kids, thus taking away too many ticket sales for Disney to take that risk.

And yet they're having a gay main character in The Eternals.

So Disney recognizes that at some point, they have to incorporate inclusivity. The question is, how quickly do they do this?

I think The Eternals is the first "toe in the water." It's Disney, but it's also aimed at teenagers.

Lesbian princesses is a little further out, given the younger age of the target demographic.

Even in children's cartoons there are gay and lesbian characters now, this is something you'd never see in the 90's or even the early/mid 2000's. Times have changed.

We're heading into the 2020's, gay/lesbian stuff is more mainstream now than ever. It's no longer a thing a lot of people try to pretend doesn't exist even toward children.

The reason as to why Disney's film's are the cash cows that they are, is partially because their films usually aim for everyone, all over the globe. That includes vast stretches of countries spread over Asia and Africa especially, where people aren't anywhere as accepting of Homosexuality as you might think.

While some other companies might be willing to take the risk and include explicit Homosexuality in their films (such as Rocketman), it is simply not viable for a big profit-loving company like Disney to risk losing millions in potential lost tickets.

Steven Universe is borderline metaphor, Young Justice has shifted it's target audience (unless you think seeing flesh torn off faces is appropriate for kids) and Legend of Korra was extremely ambigious until the comic. The most clear example I've seen of a children's cartoon having a same sex relationship, where it doesn't get clear until the end or the characters might not even qualify as living beings (Steven Universe's creator has even gone on record to say Gems are sexless and don't really grasp the concept of gender), would be in the Dragon Prince. And even in that show it's in a flashback, and said characters are dead by the time the series starts.

A lot of this just comes across like it's meant to be easy to edit around to be honest (the one in Adventure Time was actually edited in Korea). I understand why they present it that way, the international market is a priority, but it seems less like they actually care and more like they think the brownie points are nice. And like I said before, I don't think a better depiction of same sex relationships like the one in Young Justice counts when the target audience are no longer children, if it did you might as well say Mr. Garrison counts.
