No really, if it's wrong, it needs correcting as whenever sources talk about the history of TMNT they're going to use Wiki. The Wikipedia site doesn't validate my edits so I can't do it.

I am sorry if i did miss the boat or stepping on some feets but i have to Ask is Sofia cambell the same AS ross campbell??perhaps i rember wrong but a long time ago i mean that it was printed a pic of ross campbell with glasset, almost no hair and skinny and it did say something like he did like to go to cafe and comic stores etc.was it a cover identety like some writers do and publish a book under a diffrent name?or is it a other story to it??in the end it dosent matter because he/she is one of my top tmnt artist with Peter,kevin,farly.just did Wonder because all this time i did think it was a man and now its a she it seems.

It's a soft parody, if they cop to it or not. There's evidence all through the Mirage books. It evolved into it's own thing, but that wasn't where it started.

It's in the name, as we all know.

So as someone has never read the IDW, largely because it came out when i lost interest in the franchise and when I got back into it, it had a large number of issues that I couldn't catch up with.

I heard about Jennika a few days after the initial issue came out. I started thinking it was a bad idea, but after reading her backstory and seeing her design, I liked the idea. She doesn't look female. She looks like a Mutant Turtle. The other four don't look overly male, so why does Jennika need to look overly female?

Also, due to her backstory, the idea of her wearing clothes is perfectly fine.

The idea that people are calling this 'SJW pandering' is pathetic really. They wanted to make a female Turtle, and they did. Not because of an agenda, but because they wanted to

However is it something as Bobby Curnow related about his colleague Tom that had to be done? If so why? The problem people have is that because everything is being gender flipped or female orientated just for left wing agendas people are complaining every time it happens as well as rightly calling it out. I personally feel for example there is something wrong in the industry when DC allow a crowdfunding scammer to work for them. This is ignoring the fact said 'creator' may or may not have contributed to the suicide of a former boyfriend/colleague.

I don't recall ever saying TMNT was a parody. Certainly doesn't sound like something i'd say or reflect my thoughts. Or that we had to mutate Jennika. That's just something Tom wanted to do and went ahead and did with the rest of our blessing.

I don't want to speak for Tom. But my personal answer would be that there's no reason not to and it's important for different people to be able see themselves represented in their favorite media. If you can do that in a natural way that works in the story, then everyone wins in my personal opinion.

Now, maybe some would say it doesn't work for the story and that it feels forced... that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But I know we took steps to make Jennika a fully-realized character before the mutation so in my mind it works as a surprise twist for her that opens up more story potential.
