NECA 1987 2-Pack Collection at Target

I found my 3 mouser packs today near my front door. Everything perfectly intact. Except the fact that the box was open (pretty obviously and roughly open!) with the invoice sheet sticking out of the box. I thought for sure something would be missing...but nope.

P.S: Also no emails confirming delivery.

Man, that was the easiest time I ave ever had buying Neca Exclusives. I got all the things I wanted. They really must have upped the production numbers this year. Especially since they didn't do the whole 2-3 days of sales like they have done in the past.

yeah, I don't see these getting a full retail release. They are pretty niche.

Hm. This is uncommon. We haven't seen announcements like this in the past. Do we believe them or are they saving face because these things did not sell as planned when they lasted a lot longer online as we discussed the other day?

I don't remember a "bot cancellation replenishment" with any urgency on literally any other of their pre-sales over the last 2 years.

Probably a bit of both. By the time they actually disabled the ability to buy the Premutation pack, there were around 3500 left (according to their Shopify).

Either way, I'm okay with this, as after seeing more on that Thing figure, I really kind of wanted it, but it was already way too much on eBay.

Judging from the box, it looks like there's going to be a new disguise pack for the turtles. And, I'm cool (no pun intended) with it considering that style hasn't been done before in both vintage or modern lines.

Definitely want Dumbo myself. Not super interested in the other three. (Dumbo's existence as, presumably, a standard figure also reinforces my belief that the figures in this four pack will show up as standard releases later.)

For those interested, the second round of SDCC pre-sales lasted about thirty minutes before they pulled them all again.

I do remember them saying they canceled stock and it would be put into their SDCC sales one year. Wish I could remember which one. I just remember thinking they should have done this. I wonder if they are expecting SDCC attendance to be light and are afraid it would not sell out.




Interestingly my mousers showed up Friday, no shipping notice or anything, but they still show unfulfilled on my NECA account.

If they pack punk-disguised April with Jersey Red it will be highly sought after. If they pack Jersey Red with any other character not so much.

Hokum Hare would have been the perfect Loot Crate figure, that's when Loot Crate was still a thing.

Punk Pack (e.g. Dumbo, Jersey Red, Dopey, Grunt), Gangster Pack and other Pedestrian Packs will likely be super-limited, made-to-order NECA store exclusives considering the rather lukewarm reception to the Pre-Mutation Pack. In a line that has always been mutant-centric, humans are not regarded as desirable by the average collector, disbarring Shredder, Casey and April.

Look at the remainder of what could be released still as compared to how long out it takes something to ship and it's apparent that we could be in for FW TMNT through all of 2024 or maybe longer. Definitely longer if you get into the Archie line.

Which I would say is.... 95% terrific for collectors that the line has had such legs.
