Got a notification today that one of (or all of?) my crates have been shipped.

This is what it says in the mail: TMNT Limited Edition Crates, Series II - Complete Set of 4 + Bonus Figure × 1

When I click the link in the email it says this: TMNT Limited Edition Crates, Series II - Complete Set - Crate #3

I'm just eager as hell to receive these. At this point it isn't out of excitement for the merch either. It's more like, just get them and put another stretched-out, annoyingly long pre-order behind me.

Surprised at how many people don't want Mutant Shredder. Any OG fan will know how awesome and iconic they were from the Mirage comics.

Dark Turtle is my least favorite because he's just a callback to all those lame turtle variants Playmates kept pushing out over new characters. I know some folks like those, but even as a kid I hated them.

Honestly, Scrag is probably the only figure of the remaining that I'm likely to keep.

Me too. As a kid I got suckered into the first wave where that was done with the Donnie in Trenchcoat. But after that "turtles in costumes" was part of what led me away from the toyline.

It was the same thing when I was a kid with G.I. Joe. The first few "specialist" waves were cool, but the further the line got away from "green soldiers" and into "future guys with lasers" the further I got away from that as well.

I'd be looking for a claw Shredder and Dark Turtle if any of you decide to sell, if and when they come in that is. Lol. Keep me in mind when the time comes. My buddy missed out.

Lol. What the heck is going on in here now? What's all this hate for the OG turtle variants? I...don't know any of you.

As a poor kid, my first full set of the 4 bros back then was a mix and match from different waves. And undercover Don was my favorite Don variant (I mostly stuck to Don variants and only had 1 or 2 of the others in the end).

They would've held more traction with buyers back then had they released all of the storage shell turtles in a single wave.

They sort of did. Donatello with Storage Shell was released individually. But when the concept proved popular, they released all four together the following year.

And back on topic, my two Loot Crate comic boxes arrived today despite an estimated delivery date of July 5.

Donatello with Storage Shell never came on a 45 back card like the other three Storage Shell figures. Donatello with Storage Shell was a sneak preview figure. All four were on shelves together until late 1993.

Even as a kid it seemed weird when they released Donnie with the shell - in that moment it seemed like this weird one-off.
