2022 FIFA Men's Soccer World Cup

The 2022 FIFA Men's Soccer World Cup is played in Qatar between 20 November–18 December. Because of the summer heat, the tournament was postponed from the average June and July scheudle, to what in the West corresponds to the Christmas and holiday season.

Many people are concerned, since the stadiums have been built by migrant workers from Bangladesh, India, Nepal and the Philippines. The employers not only pay horrible wages, but also require the employees to work under what can be described as horrible slave labour-like conditions, and even take their passports away.

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/11/13/f...ntl/index.html

Still, it is one of the world's biggest sporting events.

Team Italy failed to qualify for second time in a row, and I'm not sad. They won the European Championship in mid 2021 by constantly diving and simulating, pretending to be wounded. They're nothing else than movie stars, and horrible ambassadors for the sport of soccer.

Barely any traffic on the school run this morning, I remember commenting 'did people forget to get up for work today' then I remembered, we're playing today. Years back I would have made social arrangements for it too. My daughter's school are even allowing kids to watch the match, or some of it anyway.

I remember back in the day in Mexico, they'd bring a TV to work so people could watch the game during lunch and such.

I have no faith in the US men's team. Casually waiting for that choke job.

Well, Spain are having a good game, 7th goal in extra time. I don't think Costa Rica even got a shot at the goal (I didn't catch a lot of it).

Gods and anime were on the Japan's side, which is cool, if unexpected.

Spain had a good time, indeed.

The problem with sides like Team USA and Team Canada is that they need better strikers. That's what differs them from stronger sides, like Team France or Team Portugal.

Japan kicking Germany's butt was great fun. Guess they should've fielded eleven players instead of activists, huh?

All the commercials with Santa Claus Jon Hamm have amused me.

Children growing up sports crazy will become nostalgic for the tournament being played during the holdiday season.

Memo’s save on Lewy was awesome!

I found myself jumping for joy watching Japan score the go ahead goal on Germany.

Richalison’s 2nd goal yesterday was amazing. Probably’s going to be the goal of the tournament.

Sucks that they’re fouling the chit out of Neymar again and he might be out with the ankle injury.

Just saw a clip of the Saudi fans interrupting a Korean live news broadcast saying “where’s Messi?” Yeah you won and got the upset, good job you deserve to celebrate. But relax, no one outside of the Middle East can even name one player on that entire squad. Don’t disrespect one of the goats because honestly you just come off looking silly.

Watching the US play England right now and I feel like it might end in a draw lol.

Excited for Argentina and Mexico tomorrow! Vamos El Tri

Can’t wait for Portugal to play Uruguay too.

Hope everyone is enjoying the tournament!
