Yes, the Jada is an improvement from the ReSaurus Street Fighter line I grew up with but they just don't do it for me not even when you look at the 'value' for the line. Like I said the Switch 2 is an odd mix of regressive and progressive tech. It can do stuff the Series S cannot like ray tracing and 4K resolution as well as DLSS. And, the SF6 game featured on Switch 2 appears to output better textures than the Series S version, yet on paper, the Switch 2 is weaker. Likewise, the PS4 game FF7 Remake running on a PS5 has less vibrant colors than the Switch 2 console. So, yes, the Switch 2 is simultaneously weaker and stronger than the Series S (not to mention discrepancies in handheld and docked mode).

But here's my main issue in down-rating a product because of price. How do I know if I can trust a 7/10 product (that in all fairness should have been reviewed 9/10 but was rated down because of higher asking price) is objectively a 7/10 product. Like what if it isn't 7/10 aesthetics wise, or in terms of shelf presence yet a review like that would lead me to believe it is mediocre. For me personally, I would prefer price to be excluded as a factor from reviews, but a number of reviewers (e.g. Nostalgia Unboxed) factor in price substantially in their final assessment.
all fair points made!

While I understand the sentiment, I don't think you can divorce a review completely from the value proposition. Like with Jada vs. Storm, they're not really playing in the same space, so comparing them to each other doesn't work for me, because I would expect the much more expensive figure to be much nicer. But like if we take Jada's Mega Man figures, which I think are near perfect, they'd still be too expensive if they were $10 more. And I think what you're driving at is that you just want value removed from a review altogether, which is a fair opinion to have, but a lot of people want an idea of that value proposition, especially now.

To the 2k3 Leo, I think even more things factor in there, as there's so little 2k3 product available. Like... is this the best 2k3 Leo available? I think so. Is it a perfect figure? Definitely not. Is it a good figure? Kind of. Is it worth $55? Not at all. (All in my opinion.)

Ultimately, reviews are all more-or-less subjective, and I tend to use them just to get a look at the figure in action rather than for the reviewer's opinion.

(Boldface added)

As a longtime reviewer of so much stuff, I'd say... you read the review. Whether you think price should be factored into ratings or not, a good reviewer will *tell* you what they're basing their assessments on -- and assess the product as thoroughly and honestly as possible -- and then you can weight the components of the review as you like. Just as you don't like price being factored into a review, a MIB collector might not think articulation and accessories are worth considering. Someone who opens their figures, as I do, might not care a whit about packaging. And still others don't bother comparing figures in one line to figures in other lines, because why would anyone *ever* display figures from different lines together?? (It really annoys me that so few reviewers do this and regard doing so with such contempt; I personally love a diverse lineup.)

And it'd be fine if any reviewer didn't touch on those things for their own reasons, as long as they were clear about it. Others -- rightly, I think -- talk about all of those things and leave it to the audience to sort the various assessments. If price is no object to you, just focus on other ratings and let that inform your purchases!

Kyle continues to make the rounds - he chatted with Veebs for a while on NowWeKnow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGAEY0TQl20

Interesting tidbit he mentioned was that Ninja Nomad Leo was intended to be the first of four new turtle variants and the other three have at least been sketched out.

I had hoped this was the case.

Don't suppose we'll see them now though.

And the more I look at these figures, the more I'm reminded of the old PS2 gamed for this series when everyone complained how massive the turtle shells were. These designs were never really meant to work in three dimensions.

It's also crazy to think that it's only been four months since wave 13 went up for preorder (especially since we knew about the lineup almost a year ago now).

Byran Flynn is no longer CEO of Super7 - Geoff Walker is.

Byran is now the Chief Creative Officer.

Maybe they can start making toys the fans want instead of want Bryan Flynn wants...

If he is the Creative Officer how would anything truly change.

We'll still get stuff like the ThunderTank repackaged in LJN colors which no one asked for. Literally no one.

BBTS is doing another round of Ultimates on sale. Most are 40-60% off.

Wave 4 - $90

Wave 5 - $88

Wave 6 - $137.50

Wave 7 - $176.99 (you can also get Guerilla Gorilla for $45)

Wave 8 - $126.49

A lot of them are available as singles too.

Also, happy 5 year anniversary to wave 1/SDCC Baxter first getting delivered. Feels like a lifetime ago at this point.

Brian Flynn asked for one, so it gets made.

Holy ****. This is actually kind of big news and I missed this.

This smells like the company is in trouble even more.

Looking forward to the moment of truth...

New negotiation for vintage upscale TMNT figures or are they pulling the plug on the line?

After Kyle was let go, are there any plans for a third wave of 2K3 figures (e.g. April, Hun, Human Baxter and Bishop)?

How about Thundercats? Was that leaked Wave 14 Ultimates with King Lion-O, Red-Eye and Wizz Ra canceled? Are they completing the Lunataks and Berserkers?

Thundercats 2011 series?

It’s been almost a year to the day since Super7 teased the Shredder, Splinter, Casey, Foot Ninja wave. I really hope we see SOMETHING.

I'm hoping they're able to work out a deal to at least get one or two more vintage waves out. If only because I hate having an incomplete set of Rock & Roll Turtles without a Raph.

That being said, I'm glad the 2003 waves didn't end without an April. The 4 Turtles, Splinter, and Casey would have also felt incomplete without her. You can probably tell I'm not a fan of having incomplete teams.

Seems dumb to already go to a turtle variant and burn the fourth slot on a $100+ motorcycle lol.

Would have rather seen Bishop or an Elite Foot Ninja.

Agreed. Or if we needed a turtle, give us one of the Same as it Never Was variants! I would love to get those three after all these years.

Also, it only being 3 figures, and one of those 3 figures being a turtle variant... that's quite a decision. But it's indicative of the likelihood that Super7's not doing all too well.
