I think some people here forget how insignificant the 2003 cartoon series was in the mainstream. The Nick cartoon series and even the Bay Turtle Turds had much more mainstream attention than 2k3 and TMNT (2007) did. A lot of people to this day are still unaware there was a 7 season long TMNT cartoon series back in the 2000s. It's not like it was obscure, but it didn't exactly take the world by storm either. I have no idea what were the hottest things around for kids in 2002-2009, but it definitely wasn't TMNT. And I'm not even talking about anime here. I'm sure there were several American cartoons that were bigger than 2k3 TMNT at the time it aired.

Therefore, I'd not be surprised if there was more MM April Rule 34 than of 2003 April. The more popular a series is, the more hentai it gets.

I guess he doesn't qualify as African American to cubed because he doesn't say things like "yessa massa", "sup dawg", "yo", "kill whitey" and "shee-it negro!"

You and I are about the same age. It’s true the 4kids show barely moved the needle for anyone in our age group or older. But it was at least moderately successful with people born around 1995-2000. It’s pretty highly revered over at r/TMNT and I imagine it’s a lot of people that were whippersnappers around then.

But uh, yeah I don’t go looking for hentai so I can’t comment there lol

"The success of a children's show that lasted seven seasons can be determined by how many 20+ year olds were aware of it at the time, which is in turn reflected by how much porn it inspired" is... Quite an unusual argument I'd say.

I honestly don't think April was ever supposed to be super hot. Can you look at any drawing of her in Mirage (interiors, not Richard Corben covers) and go, "WOW! She's a super hot chick!" I don't think so. She's supposed to be sort of girl next door, which is complimentary to her serving in the Den Mother/Big Sister capacity to the Turtles.

In the face, probably not. As regards everything else when she was drawn by Corben, Eastman, or the Bodes? Well...

Having a popular porn star use the name April O'Neil probably didn't help matters either.

Perhaps. I was 12-13 when it came out. That's 7th grade, I think. I was reaching a point where people of my age were beginning to outgrow cartoons. The only cartoons I remember people in my class talking about at the time were all anime. And by the time I got to 9th grade 2004, only the geeks like me were openly admitting to like cartoons.

who else like 2k3 cartoon in the schools attended? I think I knew a couple of guys who liked it... but neither were as much into it or the Turtles in general like I was. One of them was a fan one day and a few weeks later I spoke to him about it again on MSN Messenger (shows how long ago it was, heh) and he just said "I'm no longer really interested in TMNT". I took the hint and changed the subject. Kids and teens are very fickle when it comes to cartoons and fads, remember.

It is quite possible that 2003 TMNT was popular among kids 5 years or so younger than me at the time, but I have no idea. I'm not saying it was an obscure show by any means. It wouldn't have lasted 7 seasons if it no one was watching it, after all! But it was not exactly a mainstream hit. sdp himself even said that the most controversial episodes of the series pretty muh flew under the radar in the US. You don't fly under the radar if you're mainstream.

Obviously the people who were kids at the time weren't making THAT kind of April fanart in the mid-2000s . Just like I'm sure barely anyone was drawing Fred Wolf April hentai in the late 80s/early 90s. I first found it around 2001 or so. By then, most of the FW series fans were young adults. Just like FW April was many people's first cartoon crush, I'm sure 2003 April was some people's first cartoon crush as well. It's not a perfect barometer for popularity or anything, obviously, but seems like simple mathematics, no? The more popular a series is, the more Rule 34 art it will get.

We can't determine the success of children's media on the basis of how many adults are aware of and/or care about it. By your own admission, most adults think of themselves as having outgrown it, so it doesn't really make sense to assume anyone older than the target audience is a primary concern. It's not even fair to assume "most people", that is to say most people older than 12 or so, knew or at least cared about the FW cartoon when it was still going as they would have likely considered themselves too old to care.

What what we do know is that the 4Kids' show ended up lasted three to six times longer than most cartoons of the era and that the show ended up having a clear impact on the creative decisions in the franchise going forward. By that metric alone, it's hard to say it was less successful than the show that ended up lasting 32 episodes less and a pair of movies everyone hates.

Attractive for what. Women shouldn't bother FYI. There's pressure and expectation to this "femininity" to perform, that's another 3rd shift for women. They should drop and bury all that nonsense. Go gay, but lay off from women.

Not jealous of women performing 3rd shift in a not-so-awesome society that makes them anxious, fearing for their safety, questioning their autonomy all the time. Hehehe. No.

Such a shallow, repetitive and primitive accusation.

*laugh emoji*

I'd stop to consider I'd also need butter and bread (= a person => by making them insecure) and feed off of it. Yum
