New reissue figures found - Page 40

I guess all I really mean is that this re release thing has stirred up the “itch” in me, and I wanna keep going beyond figures they’ve re-released. I suppose I could just clip out the bio card, lots of people do that. Oh, the things we do for a uniform collection!

I just know Mattel is going to pump out MOTU origins sculpts for the main characters and side characters with possibly a few familiar variants from the classic line. I doubt they will get around to every toy made from the classic line, but it is going to be huge. If I were a Shellhead and collector, I would pick up the rare ones from the classic line and skip the rest. I understand the new Usagi cannot replace the original, but Mattel’s Usagi will blow both figures away.

For right now, the 2021 to 2026 reissue line is cheap to pick up. It will be interesting to see Mattel go up against 3D printing of characters like Shogun Shoate, Dino Shredder, and the Undercover Turtles. I can’t wait for next year.

What was your expected delivery date for it before it changed to “Shipped”?
Mine is March 1-14 but I think we both ordered within the same time frame based off ours posts in this thread a couple pages back but my order still says “Ordered”

If I remember correctly it was March 3-23 or around there.

Edit: Just checked my email from when I placed the order (2/12 @ 9:35am) and the original estimated delivery was March 7-22.

Just got my Classic Mutant 4-Pack today. Didn't even open it, though. I don't really have a place to display them right now, and I still have my vintage ones. But I really wanted to have it, especially with this being the end of the Playmates era.

Do any of you follow msmithtmnt on Instagram? He seems to get a lot of reliable insider info. He's posted early pics of things plenty of times, and made a lot of accurate "predictions" since I've been following.

Anyway, in one of those IG shorts or whatever they're called, he made a post that said "Heard a little rumour today regarding reissues" and posted a pic of Hot Spot and Scratch from his collection.

I'm crossing my fingers, my toes, my legs... I'll cross my eyes if it'll help. Like most people I'd assume, I don't have a few grand that I can just drop on a vintage Scratch. Hot Spot isn't exactly cheap, either. (I have Hot Spot already. Got it a long time ago, before the prices really went nuts. But the bubble has a yellow shade to it.)

We'll see.

I sure hope so. Scratch isn't the only rare figure I'm missing, but that is the great white whale of my collection.

If they do make a reissue before the year's out I'd imagine it could still be tough to get. I've still never seen any of the current reissues in Walmart or anything.

But hopefully those rumors he heard are more than rumors. Time will tell. The clock's ticking.

He's a buddy of mine, he's got legit credible inside sources overseas at Playmates HK, it would seem. I take his teaser to be as good as news gets!
