Were the "Dark Turtle" clones meant to become the TMNT of their time?
A thought that has been in my head for quite some time and supported by the synopsises of the unproduced episodes is that the Dark Turtles would become the new TMNT team of the 22nd century. You know, doing adventures and fighting evil and all that after the main turtles go home to their own time period. Kinda like the new TMNT team in Last Ronin... Except less... Questionable, considering they were created by villains who probably didn't know or care that creating new mutant turtles was an unethical decision and the turn to good would have been spurred on by other characters.

I doubt that was the intention behind making them for the series, but it's a fun implication for head-canon. I like the idea, anyway. Would be more open to those guys than the Last Ronin crew.

My thoughts on Dark Turtles:
- Their name comes from famous christian or biblical figures in the works of four Renaissance artists. - Dark Leonardo: Giovanni(the Italian equivalent of the english name John), from Leonardo da Vinci's oil painting Saint John the Baptist - Dark Raphael: Giorgio (the Italian equivalent of the english name George), from Raphael's Saint George and the Dragon - Dark Donatello: David, from Donatello's the bronze David. - Dark Michelangelo: Antonio(the Italian equivalent of the english name Anthony), from Michelangelo's The Torment of Saint Anthony. |
