Hello person who posted here once 3 years ago and never came back!

Unfortunately, Spengler doesn't come here often and probably missed this, but maybe he'll take note eventually.

Anyway, I agree about Survival Game and I never liked it being placed before #1. I just read it again and the situation Raph creates in his head and the fact that they're simulating a laser gun fight makes it feel like they're acting out/recreating their adventure in space, so I feel like it should be placed after #7.

Spengler only put it early because of the way Brown (?) drew the turtles, so his reasoning is just as vibes-based as mine lol. I also think it's worth mentioning that the story was introduced as a little taste of the then upcoming Tales series. Obviously Tales as a whole can bounce around anywhere, but when you're looking at Volume 1 specifically... its scope was limited to taking place between #8 and shortly after RTNY. A pretty tight window of early-mid Volume 1, so I feel like Survival Game should land somewhere in that span personally.

Then there's Turtle Dreams. I don't think its placement is bad; I just think it reads a little odd where it is. The story ends with Leonardo having a wound on his chest, and Turtle Dreams starts with one of the turtles also having a wound on his chest. Having never read Turtle Dreams, I genuinely thought Leonardo was still the wounded one. It wasn't until they mentioned Mike's name that I figured it out. It was a little jarring. To be fair, it's not a huge deal, but just two stories later, Michelangelo is healed just fine. I think this story is better served being placed after The Paradox of Chudnovsky. As it stands, immediately after Chudnovsky, we get the Casey/Raph bonding stories. Placing Turtle Dreams in between Chudnovsky and Raph's stuff leaves Mike out of the comic long enough to recover. Fun with Guns specifically takes place in August 1985, and the next time we see Mike as far as I can remember is in Apparition, which probably takes place in October that year. Given that Complete Carnage an' Radical has no set month to take place in, Mike has at least 2-3 months to heal from his injuries, which is plenty of time. Plus, there's no confusion about which turtle is hurt, unlike in its current spot.
Turtle Dreams is interesting because it's entirely stand-alone and technically a guest story, but Mike does sustain a critical injury that's never referenced again. I never put too much thought into that one.

However, I do think Fun With Guns should move. Although I guess not if it's really August 1985. I just re-read it and the August dates are obvious but I didn't see anything stating the year. I think it's more likely in 1986.

It's strongly hinted that the TCRI/space arc is roughly 6 months after #1. I always imagined that span was roughly from May to October. But if Fun With Guns is after #7, that pushes #1 basically into January 1985. Still could work I guess, but there's no hint of #1 taking place in Winter.

So I personally think Fun With Guns should go in Living With April: Year Two, a spot or two after Tales #5, which is takes place in July.

I moved "Not Forgotten" to after "The Passing". I also bumped "The Survival Game" to after "Bottoming Out". In "Bottoming Out", their street-level excursion was being monitored by Splinter, whereas in "The Survival Game" and stories afterward, they're allowed above ground unsupervised.
Also noticed that the timeline doesn't reflect the changes from this post.

Currently you have Survival Game before The Passing, which doesn't really jive because they have their standard masks and weapons in Survival Game but The Passing was far enough in the past that they were still wearing skull caps and using different weapons (Raph with tonfas, etc.)
