Tomb Raider (2025?)

The design of the "unified" Lara has been revealed for the new game:

The guns are back, for sure.

She's a milf!
It's hilarious they take some random dude's reaction on Reddit as a proof the concept of an "unified Lara" has been widely accepted.

So "Unified Lara" is what? A design that basically cobbles togethers every previous character design into a new one or something?

Exactly. And story-wise as well, apparently.

Emphasis on non-lethal options?

Uh oh... confirmed, then? Lara is a lesbian in the new Netflix show and has an ex-girlfriend?

And if the Netflix show is supposed to "bridge the gap" between the survivor games and Classic Lara and whatever new game is to come, that's not a good sign at all.

The people that owned Lara have been um.. whatever the female version of demasculating is, Lara for years now. This Netflix thing is the final nail since normies would be more open to watch a show than play her games.

They'll just chock it up to classic Lara being a relic of the EXTREME 90's and this new Lara is a more 'mature and modern take' or whatever.

Other than remaking the classic games, busty, take-no-****, thrillseeker Lara is gone.

It's literally the South Park thing. It already has a chick in it, so all that's left for them to do is make it lame and gay... and they've done that, now. What is it with Netflix and this stuff? Didn't they just try this with Resident Evil, with Black Wesker and a bunch of lesbian stuff? That was a colossal failure? And over in Netflix Castlevania (which probably has a lot of the same animators as this) Alucard doing a bunch of dudes, a hermaphrodite Dracula and all the while a bunch of made-up lesbian vampires take up most of the running time of the episodes?

So we're getting this next year. This isn't the next generation Tomb Raider game we were promised (but that's still coming and called Tomb Raider: Catalyst apparently).

It's a second remake of the original Tomb Raider game. Here's the REAL sequel, Catalyst.

Uh oh... so it IS set in India. Those initial rumors about it being set in India also involved Lara having an Indian girlfriend and getting replaced by her for the bulk of the game. Not good!

So we see now their plan for "unified Lara." Do a second remake of Tomb Raider 1, probably with a lot of references and callbacks to the latest Tomb Raider trilogy and that Lara's backstory, THEN do a sequel to Shadow of the Tomb Raider where she's got the double guns and all.

These both look great. Have not played the more recent games but another remake of the original that goes deeper sounds awesome.

Anniversary was already great. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other game that's 2 separate remakes. Not remasters but full blown remakes.

We now have remakes of remakes. Same when they do another Metal Gear Solid 1 remake and another Resident Evil 1 remake. Kind of makes sense as the first remakes are now 20 years ago

And both remakes of Tomb Raider 1 for the same ends. Tomb Raider: Anniversary was to tie Lara's origins in with the rebooted Lara's story, and now again Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis to tie Lara's origins in with the re-rebooted Lara's story.

Dumb. They just put out fairly decent remasters of Tomb Raider 1-6. All they needed to do was make a sequel to "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" and treat the older Tomb Raider games like fresh events but like a murky history.

I'm wondering... does Lara JUST get to use her double pistols? Can you also get an assault rifle or shotgun or anything like in the survivor ones? Or even the bow and arrow?

They said this is a direct sequel to the survivor trilogy, so I wonder if this will be a sequence from the 3 reboot games transitioning into this "first game," done naturally.

So technically this game went from Tomb Raider 1 to Tomb Raider 4.
