I need help. I’m not suicidal or anything, but I need help. I’m just burnt out. But it’s I don’t like to say anything because there are those who had it have had it worse than me. But I’ve been having panic attacks at work. A lot. While operating heavy machinery.

I’ve told my supervisors about this, but little has been done.

I can’t say for certain because we can’t talk about internal investigations, but I think a former employee tried to kill himself.

Odd duck. Had issues. Giant pansexual garden gnome with a beard but a nice guy.

Got into a car accident, spent time in the hospital. Returned to work and showed me pictures of the accident.

Claimed that he dropped a slice of pizza on his lap as slammed into the guardrail of a bridge.

He showed me pictures of the accident scene. He didn’t just loose paint on the passenger door, he PLOWED into the driver’s side.

What flagged me is that at least two guys I’ve known have checked themselves out by parking their vehicles in front of a moving train.

I don’t know what to do. I’ been asking for help, speaking to doctors and counselors and had sleep studies done.

I feel like I am in an abusive relationship where I can’t leave until I find something else. Income, Benefits, ect. But right now I can’t pay the bills. I’m in my Fourties and I’m asking my parents for money.

So what do I do? Hang on or do I quit and cash in my 401k until I find something better? What options do I have?

I'm pretty sure you can still bank your 401k and put it into stasis until you find something else worthwhile. That's what I did when my company switched managing companies.

For the fellas only, sorry Indigo lol:

I’m as bad about being on my phone as the next person, but some of these mfs… repeatedly lately, I’ve taken my kid in public restrooms for him to piss, and obviously he needs to use the one urnial that’s mounted lower to the ground, but we’ve had to wait several minutes on some occasions because dudes will be standing at the pisser just looking at their phones lmao

Dick not out or anything. Just hogging up a urinal scrolling. Crazy.

Missed this the other day, but I say quit if you can.

If you can’t quit and are willing to try anything, I can tell you the only thing that brought me back from the brink when I went nuts was acupuncture. Took about 3 months to consider my insomnia completely cured. It’s not cheap, but it beats being dead.

Sorry you're having a rough time. Having had severe and frequent panic attacks for some years when I was younger, I'm sympathetic for anyone struggling with that.

Sucks that in most cases, leaving before finding something else might not be advisable, but prioritizing your mental health sounds like a perfectly valid reason if the place is driving you too close to the edge and you need to change your situation sooner than it takes to find another job.

If you're struggling to afford your bills, etc, in your state would you qualify for assistance for a bit while between jobs?

lol Okay.

But really, people are existing THAT deep in their own little bubble now that they don't even seem to notice other people. There are at least a few places people shouldn't even have to say excuse me... they should just freakin' notice other people and MOVE.

Have definitely seen some of those in the past week. Including a lady blocking the inner doors of a store to chat with the cashier (still behind the counter), and idiots blocking traffic in a crowded end of a parking lot.

Also... Adblock Plus clearly quit working and can't figure out if it's browser specific (Edge desktop), like an incompatible update or what. Small ads that are not annoying are one thing, but FAR too many obnoxious and LARGE ones showing up. Somes sites apparently feel the need to have video ads the size of YouTube videos... and they wonder why people block this crap.

Dang Stu, I am sorry to here that you're in a tough spot. What helped me get through some really bad times was nostalgia (along with weed and anti-depressants). Try watching a show that you haven't seen since you were a kid. I always got really positive feelings from doing that. That's also how I found my way back to the turtles. If you are hurting for money then you could always consider donating plasma (it pays pretty good the first month), or even being a part of a drug test study over the weekend.

What grinds my gears is my own stupidity. I ended up giving myself tinnitus. I have constant post nasal drip so I finally decided to give a neti pot a try. It's basically a small teapot that you put one end into one nostril and let it drain into the other. Well my stupid self didn't read the directions and I poured it into one nostril while closing the other one thinking how else would it go into my sinuses where it is needed. It turned out that I made a big mistake. For the last month I have tinnitus that goes on and off throughout the day. Sometimes it sounds like a waterfall and sometimes it is a humming note. I keep my noise canceling headphones by me just to make sure the noises are not coming from an external source. I was hoping it would get better on its own, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I finally scheduled an appointment with an ent doctor, but I have to wait until the middle of August to see them.

Huh, what? You have titanium? Postal Strip? Simon who? Why’d did he want to pour stuff into his nose? I liked “Waterfall” by TLC in the 90’ but what does that have to do with anything?

I don't know if it was from the extreme heat, or what, but Xfinity utterly shat itself this weekend, leaving so many in my county (as well as I've heard south Jersey and nearby PA) without internet service. Some said FIOS was also down. Went down early Saturday. Guess I was lucky mine came back just short of 4:30pm Sunday, some people were still out last night, but that still sucked so much. A power outage would be worse, so I'm glad it wasn't that, but with tv, etc also dependent on the internet now... a day that's too hot to be outside (was 101°), you can't watch tv, using the phone via data and weak connection was painfully slow and iffy... that sucked. lol

Then we had neighborhood fireworks backed by lightning from a storm rolling in around that prime time and no one around stopped until the hard downpour came. Then some were back out setting them off in lighter rain, despite the lightning. So, it was a weird 4th of July.

Long hotel check ins. ****. Off.

I already reserved the room, I pre-paid, I’m a rewards member, you have all my information. Just hand over the god damn room keys and tell me when breakfast starts! Jesus H!

Those very long ai story youtube ads have come back and in full force. You better be close to your device while watching so you can hit skip. Otherwise you will be spending the next 45 minutes listening to a story about the dumbest most mindless story that you have ever heard. Usually involving vampires of some kind. Now instead of just the audio they have an ai video playing out with it. I don't know how this company is not losing hundreds of thousands of dollars that they pay for these ads. Are there actually people who like those stories and pay for a subscription? That's just hard for me to believe. I feel like I lose IQ points just listening to 15 seconds of these ridiculous stories. They are so dumb that they actually make me angry.

I had a weird situation when I checked into this cheap motel in Los Angeles last May. The owner told me there was some $20 check-in fee that I had to pay in cash. Like dude, I got my credit card ready to to pay for the room!

That place was kind of a dump too! It had broken furniture and my door wouldn't lock. Anybody couid've just waltzed in and taken my stuff while I was out sightseeing. Thankfully it all turned out all right, plus there was a bus route nearbye that I was able to take straight to the airport. Still, I am definitly not staying there ever again!
