The role of Ginny Weasley will be recast in season 2 due to "unforseen circumstances."

Peter Serafinowicz (The Tick, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace) has been cast as Peeves the Poltergeist. The character appeared in the books and video games but not the movies.

Nicholas Hoult has been cast as Gilderoy Lockhart for season 2 which focuses on the book The Chamber of Secrets. Perfect casting!

Nicholas Hoult has exited the series due to scheduling conflicts. Kit Harrington, who played Gilderoy Lockhart in the Audible series, will be reprising the role for the TV show.

Man, it's amazing to me just how much hatred the leftists have for the Harry Potter franchise now. Go over to Bsky, and I think I see at least one random post everyday demanding the boycotting of anything associated with the franchise.

I would have assumed some are also boycotting this because they don't want new actors playing the characters they grew up watching (even though they're all nearly 40 years old now)

The first Harry Potter flick was TWENTY FIVE years ago!

Harry Potter 1 is further away now than now than Star Wars: A New Hope was when Harry Potter 1 was released.

For anyone who was around for Harry Potter 1, go run that through your melon.

Most people hate JK Rowling not the franchise itself

Twitter is full of posts of people telling you how horrible of a person you are if you watch that show and line JK's pockets.

Don't listen to that people, I am really excited for December to watch it, trailer also has new scenes that were not in first movie so we are finally getting a book accurate adaptation

They found a new actress to play Ginny is season 2. Tom Riddle and Dobby have also been cast.

I'm a guy that struggled to get through the movies but was glad I did as they did progressively get quite a bit better after the boring slog that was the first two movies. Which is why, remake stuff aside, it's impossible for me to imagine sitting through season-length stretched out versions of those two movies/books.

I think the biggest thing against this series is that it removes the "importance" of those original movies, particularly in light of dimming the hope that maybe one day we'd get a sequel movie or two or three about the Harry Potter kids now as adults with kids of their own with the whole cast from the original movies (or at least the sane ones not yelling angrily across the internet at the lady who made them rich because she knows what a woman is). And I don't know about the books but the epilogue of the last Potter film seemed to sort of make that as a kind of promise. Now there's this whole new iteration remaking all of those movies into seasons that may (or may not) end up being way more loved than those movies... so would anyone even want those sequels to those films at that point? They could just soldier on with new seasons with the new cast that've settling into those roles, who cares about those old movies now, etc..

To use a crude example, it'd be like we got the OT movies of Star Wars (Star Wars, Empire, Jedi) and then we spent 10-15 years dreaming about sequels or prequels... and then instead of any hope of that happening, we get a TV series remaking those 3 movies with different actors (obviously) with an eyebrow cocked as there appears to be an eye for the non-existent Modern Audience™. And then basically shut up and be happy.

This is just a common mistake because it is not a remake in a way Disney live action movies are remakes of animated movies but another adaptation that will be more accurate to books and I am all for it, not saying movies are bad

No, you're not saying movies are bad. Or even that bad movies are bad. Or bad TV shows, or anything else that's BAD, especially like Daredevil Born Again Season 2. You're the apex consumer model.

Well I can have my opinion, this is not a criticize but just because you don't like Daredevil Born Again season 2 does not mean everyone else do

Just a random question for you: what movies or TV shows do YOU think are objectively bad? Or if you can't dig that deep, what specific seasons of TV shows or whatever? Is there anything you can identify as BAD?
