We’re only 10 years away from the future shown in “Once Upon a Time Machine”
Will we have flying cars? Will we all be in the old folks home?

Well I don't know about that but I do know know someone might be tempted to remodel the Statue of Liberty to hold a rifle... And maybe wear a samurai helmet too...

Well, the TMNT Pizzeria already came out, 10 years ahead of schedule, only it is in Santa Monica rather than New York.

Imagine if like the Simpsons, the original TMNT show had not been cancelled and continued on what would now be around 40 seasons long. In general theyweren't really a sliding timeline since we saw time pass and technology evolve (April used the internet in the last seasons) and we saw calendars with correct years from time to time.
How would they acknowledge that we dont' have flying cars, heck, the twin towers, would they have just not shown them anymorewith no explanation. would spinter have died? would we have gotten another usagi yojimbo episode? Would Lotus have become Karai? |

In this episode Michaelangelo gets excited about getting to return to, "Good old 1991!"
Does this prove 4 years had passed since Season 1? Assuming the first season was in 1987 in-universe the same as it aired in real life. |

Wow. I might have to rewatch. I don't remember any episode have people call out the actual year. The closest I have is the one kid saying 'we're children from the 80's' in that one Eye of Sarnath ep.

I decided to look it up and as it turns out, we're nine years away from Same As It Never Was.

An argument can be made for Season One to be 1989, but it can’t be any earlier than that because April celebrated one year at Channel 6 in Season 3. We go into more detail in this thread: https://forums.thetechnodrome.com/sh...2&postcount=19 |

There's actually an earlier thread than that about the topic of how long the turtles were active. In my headcanon I like the adventures to take place in their teenage years so 13-19 but I'm not going to die on that hill. https://forums.thetechnodrome.com/sh...ad.php?t=34178

I think them being 15 at the beginning and 19 by the finale works quite well, personally. By my count they’re 19 at end of Image, Archie/Year of the Turtle, 4kids and the 2012 show too. For Mirage v1/v2/Image, I headcanon them being 13-19. Obviously it requires some mental gymnastics, but if you ignore some direct references to them being 15 in some of the early books, everything else makes much more sense and you don’t have to cram so many stories in such a short span of time. Yes, Donatello mentions it too once they've rounded up Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, and Lugnut, High Five and Jersey Red.

I remember as a kid, seeing April as an "old lady" with gray hair blew my mind. At the time it was far into the future, but now you realize it was only what, 40 years later? The passage of time made me feel old, that the original April would be an old lady by the 2030's.
Makes me sick to my stomach. |

45 years. She would be in her early 70’s.

Raphael has a line when he sees 70 year old April saying, "She aged rather well!" I'm glad April has good genes!
Also she really was married to her job, still being an on-site reporter into her 70's. It really feels like something she would continue to do instead of retiring. |

Well on the bright side, Rob, Cam, Barry, Townsend, and Renae are all still pretty good for their age today. Of course, in tv/movies, aging people always sound exaggerated; Dick Van Dyke's character Mr. Dawes Sr. in the original Mary Poppins looked and sounded worse than Dick looks and sounds today after reaching the 100-year mark.

i Have all these technologies for decades because Krang Krang Prime and the other Utroms gave them to me. And when i was Utrom(Chrell) in the plaent of the Utroms i had all of these too. However the humans has managed to create some devices that look similar to Utrom technologies. For example what we do today with the computers and the internet like watching videos and buying things from shops through the internet is something that Utrroms had hundreadsa of years ago before the humans do it. Another example is the machine that Krang gave me in 1987 to communicate with him where i can see him and talk with him. Now we can do it with the smartphone a machine that created in 2011. But i had it decades ago and the Utroms made it more than 500 years ago .
