sometimes people misremember, have false memories or just outright lie, two of the pokemon dub actors have also said that they recorded the banned Porygon episode, but evidence suggests not only this isn't the case but that it would basically be impossible.
incredible claims require incredible evidence,

The 4kids guy has probably gone senile. I seriously doubt there's a completed episode sitting around that somehow nobody has a copy of. Also when Nick bought the license from 4kids, they should technically have ALL the assets of the show, even the concept art, unproduced episodes, sound files, etc. There's no way that stuff is just not available after what...from 2009 to 2026?

So you're telling me for over 15-20 years nobody found this "mysterious copy" of Nightmares Recycled saved on any computers or files? I seriously find this hard to believe.

For example look at all the canceled Fast Forward Season 2 info we know. Like Ch'rell becoming the Triceraton Shredder, Space Usagi, etc....those FF episodes never even got past the script phase yet when know so much about what was planned. And you're telling me a fully completed episode from back in Season 5 is somehow nowhere to be found?

Definitely not senile, he was able to accurately recall a lot of stuff from the show's production. A lot of the information on Fast Forward season 2 comes directly from him. He shared a lot of concept art from the show and a lot of interesting behind the scenes tidbits. I feel like you're reaching to justify this not being true. The episode was not fully completed. The animation was done. Not the episode. That's why it wasn't released. Paramount can't even bother to give the show proper masters, the DVD set they released was terrible and had so many issues, and they've never released a full version of Turtles Forever on home Video in the US so I doubt they'd be willing to even look into if they had the animation

I suppose so but three separate people have claimed the same thing. One of which was the lead art director on the show who has shared a lot of concept art and info on production of the show. There's no way to actually prove it was animated outside of what's been said, but he shared fully colored concept art for the episode proving that it at least got beyond the script

I was going to say exactly this. 2003 is a bit of a red headed step child to Nickelodeon. That is wasn’t really a high priority for them when they bought the rights, and 4kids didn’t even have enough money to finish Turtles Forever (a handful of people stuck around and did it for free). So it’s not like they had some transition team making sure no stone went unturned.

They took whatever 4kids gave them, but they were more worried about making their own content.

The only reason Viacom bought the 2003 cartoon was because 4kids had the merchandising rights for TMNT so they were kind of forced to do it.
They didn't buy the 87 cartoon which is the real iconic one until ten years later

And what did they gain from that? Some mediocre Youtube views?

Someone must have really (pardon my language) teed you off today! Did a kid wearing a Fred Wolf TMNT shirt spill his frozen yogurt on your shoe?

Maybe some DVD or streaming revenue from it. Maybe some licensing revenue....

I mean, let's face it - that's the real cashcow of a long-term I.P. Small money always trickling in. It's the "always" part.

I'd love to see someone like Discotek get their hands on the distribution rights!

Put out an SD Blu-Ray like they did with Sonic X and Shaman King!

Your niece is also seeing games that again aren't geared towards her. If the show was a movie it would probably be pushing a PG rating and episodes like IITM and NR are PG-13. Yeah, not a whole big thing but still it makes all the difference to BS&P.

Insane In the Membrane is nothing to some of the things in Nightmares Recycled. There is crazy baby experimentation and back alley doctor stuff in the episode.

At least IITM was released on DVD and aired in some places. Nightmares had to be canned before it was even completed.

I don't want it to seem like I'm defending them, because I don't care either way what they choose to air or not, I'm just saying that this is why they make the decisions that they do.

Jesus! How bad was the content in this episode?!
