Less and less effort put into the movies each time :p

Why is this? TMNT was so popular in the late 80's and early 90's but the only good movie to come out was the first one. If you look at each of the movies back to back you will see that the actors get worse, the story gets worse and the execution of the movie gets worse. Now they got this new one coming out....totally in cgi. lol. In my opinion this new movie is gonna be a big flop.

Sure you are gonna have little 10 years olds that wanna go see this movie but they are gonna lose alot of the older TMNT fans because of this pixar type cgi they are doing.

When I first saw this movie was coming out I was pleased. I thought they were gonna try to recreate how good the first one was. Then I went to the site to view the trailer and and see this cgi crap. The first thing I thought of when I saw the turtles in CGI was this.

So what do you guys think?

I think tons of older fans are going to come out and watch the new movie, despite the fact it's CGI instead of live action.

If you had done any research you'd know this movie is going to be very good and made for fans.

its cgi so what? quit whining it will ahieve both demographics and probably blow the first one away.

If the cgi effects were on the level of the movie Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within then it would pull in more money. It just looks too cartoonish now though. Only the super hardcore fans and kids are gonna see this. And there arent enough of those for the movie to be more than a flop.

yeah.....

you're allowed to have your opinion and all, but Kevin Munroe is a FAN of the franchise. The movie is going to be a really decent show for fans of all ages.

I think this movie would be way worse if there were bad costumes, but better if they made really good costumes.

thats up to personal opinion, i think super realistic humans would have looked silly interacting with turtles...

have you seen the original teaser? not the trailer the teaser watch it.

And you are wrong if its a hit with the kids it'll be a hit, no hardcore fans needed, and if marketed right this movie will be seen by all the 80s nostalgic adults as well just like the new transformers movie.

it could be a flop but hopefully it isn't as the movie looks really good.

Practically everyone I know knows about this movie and are excited to see it, and they aren't even TMNT fans like me. Everyone that had TMNT rule their childhood will see this, simply because the TMNT could be considered a cult classic. This movie won't brick simply because of the name connected to it.

You mean if it had the "quality" of the CGI as FF, this movie would be a huge flop. Only and idiot likes the emotionless plastic puppets that you see in Final Fantasy ANYTHING.

In interviews during the comic con the film's producer talked about the fact that no studio was willing to finance a live action TMNT film, so they went with CGI. And with CGI the doors are open to make the turtle's world bigger and better, something they had trouble doing with the original films

The reason the first movie can be considered the best is because they were able to develop a rather serious story without having to worry about public scrutiny. Unfortunately, despite only a PG rating, a lot of parents cried foul because of violence and language. So the people with the money made sure that wouldn't be the case for #2. It wasn't less effort that made it a "worse" movie, it was politics. Movie #3 really wasn't a bad movie, it was just unfortunate that the quality of the costumes went down. Again, not something connected to less effort.

Half the stuff seen in the new trailer wouldn't be possible if it were being done live-action. If Final Fantasy is the measure against which you compare all computer animated films, I don't think you quite understand the purpose of CGI. First, FF was hardly a successful film in terms of the box office; TMNT should be able to beat that out without any trouble. Second, if ultra-realism is what you want, you shouldn't be watching a movie, be it live-action or animated, about 5-foot tall walking, talking, ninja turtles in the first place.

I understand that not everyone is going to be in agreement about the new movie, but if you are going to be critical of it you'd do yourself a favor by actually making a good arguement.

how do you figure? exactly how much money do you think Final Fantasy made?

plus it'll hit the same audience the original turtle films hit, possibly even more considering the popularity of the CGI genre and the cult like status of the turtles

You're gonna have to try a lot harder to convince anyone around here the movie is going to fail because it's CGI.

Look, they weren't going for photo realistic, they intended to give it that cartoonish style. In case you didn't know, theres no motion capture in this, it's all been hand drawn. Just as much effort went into this movie as Final Fantasy.

Watch the trailer, you would see the animation is some of the most impressive in a long time. And the level of detail is outstanding.

More importantly, it's the writting and characterization you should really focus on. Roseangelo sumed it up best, if you compare the look TMNT or any other CGI movie with that of Final Fantasy, it's not fair. 2 diffrent styles were used. It's just like ocmparing the 2 TMNT cartoons, you can't do it becaus they're too different.

Well, my input really isn't needed here. But, if the dude/dudette wants to hate on the movie when the majority of people are psyched about it, what's it going to hurt? But, when all his/her friends and reporters everywhere are giving it rave reviews, I won't be surprised when he/she dons a disguise to go check it out incognito.
