TMNT second intro: what season did it start?

This one in question

I like it, mostly because I'm kind growing board with the classic one. So what season did they start with this intro? I just wanna know if Lions Gate has skipped this intro for some reason or not.

That one was exclusive to the CBS run, but only until 'Red Sky'. It started in year four, 1990.

So then the upcoming season 4 DVD set should have that intro, then?

I hope so, anyway.

I can guarantee it. There aren't even 40 more syndicated eps in the series.

So then why didn't "Plan 6 from Outer Space" feature the second intro? It was the first ep of Season 4.

Not all of season 4 aired on CBS, some of it aired on Fox first. The intro started when the show switched to CBS. According to the "official" episode guide, the first episode to use it was "Son of Return of the Fly II."

The way I 'member it, I first saw it on "THE DIMENSION X STORY". But, that was the official premiere. People have said that CBS had a preview special where they showed "THE BIG CUFFLINK CAPER" though. Only Molly Bode ever said the fly ep was first (but, I sho' do luvz me some fly eps... except the first one ).

I can second this, as I remember vividly that "The Dimension X Story" and "Donatello's Degree" aired on the first CBS week. I've also heard about the Caper episode..but I didn't catch it if it was on. The second week was "Son of Return of the Fly II" and "Raphael Knocks 'Em Dead".

I can confirm "The Big Cufflink Caper" airing the Friday before the TMNT's debut on CBS Saturday mornings, as I did watch it.

And I also clearly remember the first two Saturday morning episodes being the ones MrPliggins mentioned.

I liked this intro the coloring seems more bright and vivid. Also isn't season four the season where they have the ending scene with the turtles jumping into the elevator shoot, instead of them coming out of cave with the technodrome tracks on the ground?

Yep. All Group W eps after "THE BIG BLOWOUT" (syndicated & Euro Cruise) featured that elevator shaft or w/e for the still image behind the credits. The last ep on DVD 6 had that. Before "THE BIG BLOWOUT", it was a still from "ENTER: THE SHREDDER".
