Where are the prequel comics?!?!

Will there be some more in depth look at these stories in any form? I really have enjoyed the comics, but I desire more...I feel like there is more to these stories...

S:I just got all of the movie prequel comics (awesome stuff, by the way), and was surprised to see Triceratons, The Ancient One, and the Ninja Tribunal.

Since these are prequels to the movie, does that mean those characters are canon to the movie? What about Hun's appearance in the Game Boy Advance game, and the mention of Bishop and Lord Simultaneous in the same game?

Dan:Seems logical to me that they would be considered as part of the movie's canon - but bear in mind that Kevin Munroe probably had nothing to do with those projects, so his opinion may differ.

Not concrete, but interesting, to say the least.

As Putrescent mentioned, I think I could definitely do without an utrom Shredder in the next movie.

However...

Bishop is a perfect villain for the TMNT. Splinter keeps telling his sons to stay underground and OUT OF SIGHT. Why? What is the everpresent fear at the back of everyone's minds? That scientists and hyperactive government officials would find out that they exist, come looking for them, and in a worst case scenario, capture and proceed to vivisecting the whole family. Even one of them getting brought to a lab and becoming a test subject would be their worst nightmare come to life. Bishop represents a blood-chilling reason (which exists REGARDLESS of the Foot, aliens, aligning of stars and whatnot) for the TMNT to "stick to the shadows." He represents the horror that would befall them were they to be discovered.

No matter how many times the TMNT "save the world," it will never accept them. If the general public finds out they exist, it will only fear them and seek to destroy them because they are "mutant freaks" -- who don't even have humanoid faces like the X-Men. So they would be treated as savage beasts despite the fact that they are sentient.

Plus, if Bishop is in a TMNT movie, then they might use the aspect of the 2k3 take on Rat King's origin that I liked the most: Splinter's DNA had a hand in creating the RatKing, giving him further connection to the turtles. I also liked how insanely impossible Rat King is to fight in 2k3. The tougher the adversaries, the better.

For whatever reason, I despise Bishop wholly. I suppose that's what would make him a good villain, but I would actually rather Ch'Rell be in a movie than Bishop (of which I would not like to happen, either).

Well... *shrugs* I guess Baxter Stockman, or a new character invented soley for the movie universe, could always fill in that sort of villain role I described... It's just that Stockman is frequently portrayed as a bumbling egotistical "Doc Ock" of the TMNT universe -- comical, even. Plus, we know the turtles have already faced him, as seen by the mouser on the trophy wall. Maybe there could be a new character for the movie. *shrugs* It's just that we rarely see any reinforcement of the "danger" on the surface that Splinter has hammered into his sons all these years.

I don't get the repeated complaints about the Turtles looking for Triceratons in the Raphael issue. This does occur in a PREQUEL comic doesn't it? The film itself states "They battled many creatures and foes..." well why is it so hard to accept the Triceratons as among those creatures and foes that they battled?

The new turtles movie is clearly a loose sequel to the ENTIRE Turtles mythos, and I thought the Triceratons were a fine addition.

I think people are ticked off because we're being shown that the turtles have fought Triceratons, went up against Baxter Stockman, And also had seen the Utoms. I don't know about anyone else but I feel pretty damn cheated because we've never gotten those characters in a movie at all besides a nice toss back at the very end or in the prequil comics.
To me that's the reason why but I can't speak for everyone else.
It's nice and all to do these things but I say no thanks not unless your going to go all the way.
