DVDEmpire has a much better look at the cover art. The pizza looks worse. The "Net wt. 3 discs" is nice though. Oh, and they have a August 7th release date, same day as TMNT CGI. What a coincidence. :p

I think this will officially be the Year of the Turtle for me.

Curiously, I have finally been strong and integrated enough to make contact with people that I first met when I first got into the Ninja Turtles.

But why only 18 episodes?

Did Season 5 air on TV in a different order than ninjaturtles.com lists the episodes?

Will some eps be left off until the next boxset?

Other posters have wondered this too, and so far looks like we just have to wait-and-see what episodes are put on the Set. Also, as another poster said, may be an early-production error (like with the different info on the episode amount for Season 4 back when it was first announced).

I wish I had kept mine, the cover art on those were awesome. Would have been worth keeping as collector's items, but my five year old self kind of thrashed those boxes.

Assuming the second Hokum Hare ep is the first ep on this set, then we'll get all of Season 5 except for these last three episodes:

Michaelangelo, the Sacred Turtle
Planet of the Turtleoids Part One
Planet of the Turtleoids Part Two

^ What's going to happen to these three then?

I think their in production order, like the Batman TAS. Which explains why the 4th season was out of order.

Doesn't explain why they used the wrong openings for allot of the episodes or cut ones for that matter.

A few of the episodes of season 4 had a shorter version of the second intro, which I do remember seeing on TV sometimes (was it the second episode of the OT on Saturday morning CBS when they'd play 2 episodes back to back?)
Anyway, I figured it was for time purposes (like how the Simpsons has shortened intros) so I was alittle surprised that a few of the episodes had that intro.

The last episode on the last disc of Season 4 seems so out of place there. Aside from the fact they use the original intro, it should have been placed in discs 1 or 2. But the season is out of order anyway. Season 5 isn't out of order because of production or airdate order at all, is it? I suppose there's not much to signify any order in season 5 anyway aside from My Brother, The Bad Guy.

So why are the Hokum Hare episodes listed as Season 5 eps on the official site?

The first opening they have implies that they must have been early Season 4 episodes....but they were delayed for some reason. Is it because they missed the Easter holiday and they delayed these episodes a full year till the next Easter?

Something like that, CyberCubed. They were probably planning to show the Euro-Cruise eps then to, but changed their minds after everyone decided to hate Hokum and his being connected to Easter just because he's a rabbit.

Putrescent, none of the eps on the Season 4 DVD had incorrect intros. The first 13 and last 1 were syndicated, and that's why they had the first intro. All the CBS eps were slightly longer than you would expect an American cartoon to be, slightly over 24 minutes. So, for the eps that had the edited intro, it was a way to free up additional commercial time since they went even further over th run-time limit. For them to replace it with the full intro for release on DVD just because commercials are no longer an issue would be historically inaccurate and rather pointless. At least we're getting the full episodes though.
