I don't know about you, but I see nothing out of character with the turtles all acting light-hearted; they're all capable of acting both this way and the opposite, they're all made of more than just their stereotypical personalities that some take for granted.
And it's not just that they saved the world, but also in FF, they've more freedom, they live in a future NYC where aliens are welcome and they're no longer outcasts. Besides, they still have their fights and have times to act serious. So they rebelled in the Journal, it's not the first time they've rebelled, and in spite of all they accomplished in the previous season, they ain't perfect and they're always gonna make mistakes and probably continue to rebel every once in a while and still have growing up to do. And I think their rebellions are kind of Splinter's fault. He kind of deprived them of a full chance to grow up, like when he wouldn't invite them to the Batte Nexus or even allow a friend of his to tell them the story of his Battle Nexus victory. He even admitted to being an overprotective father and that his sons were growing up. He made up for it by allowing them in, and then later, even gave up his place in the tournament so his sons could have a fair chance to win, 'cause had he stayed in, he would've just won again.

First, it's pretty clear in Fast Forward that they want to return to their present time. But I do see the advantages of not needing to hide in the sewers. Yeah, I do think they can be be light-hearted but it's over the top in the show in my opinion. I really think Fast Forward has improved and I watch the show regularly. And if it wasn't supposed to be a continuation of the 2k3 series I'd enjoy it a lot more. That's why I like to think of it as a completely different show but they keep reminding us that it isn't supposed to be viewed as a different show but as the next season of the same show.
Also, there is no reason to assume Splinter would have repeated as champ. He was 3 years older now and if you watch the development of the show I think it's pretty obvious that he's aging and losing a step. In the episode where Karia attacks while Leo is with the Ancient One, I believe it's pretty clear Splinter isn't as good as he was when he entered into Saki's headquarters in the first season. Grant it Karia's was a surprise attack and the other was an assault but Saki was definitely in full defense mode during the assault. Plus, one was on the Shredder's turf and this one was in their own home. I do think it's obvious Splinter is aging. But the Battle Nexus tournament does take place almost at the beginning of the 2nd season so he might still be in great shape. However, I think the show is meant to portray him as an aging Sensi. I think he probably could have repeated but I definitely don't think it's a given. We never got a fair chance to examine his competition. Leo was poisoned, although, I definitely don't think at this point in the show Leo could have taken Splinter. Although, I honestly believe he probably could defeat Splinter later in the show, around the time he returns from training with Ancient One. I really believe the way he owned Karia wasn't touch on enough in the show. I think if just for that single episode it wouldn't be unreasonable to believe Leonardo has surpassed Splinter. But like I said it wasn't touch on enough in the show and I think Leo's skills seem to diminish again. But it's actually Usagi that I question about in the tournament. We are never given a fair chance to see his skills and I have always wondered how far he could have made it in the tournament even if Splinter stayed in, had he not been disqualified. |

Anyhow, the Turtles deserve to act a bit different. Seriously no one likes serious faces all the time, the boys needed their vacation in the future. Plus as I've stated before, things need to be different, and it seems to have worked with that Murphy dude saying the ratings have been its highest in two years. I personally love TMNT:FF, but I love 2k3 episodes as well.
As to the Turtles future... Sure I'd like it to last, even as long as Simpsons or Power Rangers have. There is simply no excuse why shows like that could survive this long, but TMNT can't with the way the new series tells its stories (that's a good thing BTW.) Maybe it's just the people handling it, that make it fail, who knows, it's not my problem. The other thing is, I work, got friends, go to the clubs on the weekend (my sleeping days,) yet if Turtles survive, I get a severe lack of sleep from dancing my ass the night before. So if it ends, well it's been a good run. I would rather it survive more then get canned though honestly, or see someone make the show where it is able to last on TV as long as shows stated above (which one never used toys as a basis for it staying on the air *ahem* Simpsons.) I hope 4kids get their heads out of their asses and quit playing by the books though, it's just no fun being a follower when they should make their own minds up by being a leader, and either give the fans what they want (the show to last longer then 6 seasons, the boys back home,) or get the hell outta dodge. Who cares if a movie sequel gets greenlit? Who cares if the toys don't sell? As long as something I created has fans still clamoring, I'm going to do everything I can to keep it around for them. -X-

I hate to be nitpicky Duke but Battle Nexus happened at the end of season 2.
I believe that Splinter could have beaten the Leo in Prodigal Son. I know this might sound like an excuse but I think Splinter was just having a bad day when he fought Karai. When did not see the guys in the period that Leo was gone. It is possible that Splinter spent alot of time worrying about Leo so he eased up on his training abit. He did alot better than Leo when he fought the enhanced Jammer head. He also called himself a true ninja master in that episode. And Leo took along time to reach Chunin rank. Its not that Leos skills diminished its just he was possibly fresher than Splinter. Splinter was a worried parent when he fought Karai but Leo was focused and relaxed when fought her. Leo was not angry like Karai was in their battle. As for Usagi, I cant see him beating Splinter. If we both agree that Leo cant beat Splinter then Usagi should fair no better. They seemed evenly matched when they fought each other. Also, Usagi thought that assassin in Samurai Tourist was unbeatable but Leo beat him. Leo was pretty much telling Usagi that he could defeat anyone in his world when he said something along the lines of “He may be the best in your world but not in mine." We could also probably rule Klauh out of beating Splinter. Last edited by The Terror of Death; 06-11-2007 at 01:25 PM. |

I thought this thread was the confirmed FF continues and Space Usagi will be in it so I kept skipping it since I didn't want to read the usual FF sucks/it doesn't rants. lol.
Well I really wanted Space Usagi and FF S2 didn't sound so bad but oh well. From the information we have: movie toys sold well. FF had good ratings. "so lets be pessimistic with that info" It can mean a new movie!! However the new movie will be set in the Future ala Fast Forward! or The show gets a new season in the present to be more like the movie, however it'll feature dumbdown plots like FF did! -------------------------------------------- Hey, it could happen, we know how clueless they are. And about the licensing show, if things will be decided there it doesn't mean we will know the information for a few months either... From what I'm familiar with the licensing show is people go there to promote/sell their upcoming shows. So its kind of odd, normally they already have everything planned to sell to advertisers...at least its what I think since Rangerboard would always use the show to get a sneak peak at the latest Power Ranger season. |

Power Rangers may be getting a new season in 2008, but Operation Overdrive, it's present season, was'nt showcased at the licensing fair in 2006.

According to the 4kids corporate website:
"2006 brings Big Turtles changes ... The Turtles will "Fast Forward" in time! Season 5 of the 4Kids and Mirage Licensing produced TMNT TV series will be titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward - and will debut on 4Kids TV in September 2006 ... The 26 all-new episodes will feature a new look and attitude, more irreverent humor and a futuristic story and feel " Hopefully they will finish FF AND return to the regular present day, present time. And why do the Turtles on this page have a "cuddlier" design than the ones on the NT- other than the eyes, they look so much like those in the OT. And I just emailed the person in charge of home videos in 4Kids! I'll post a copy of the email if allowed. |

Oh no! It's a paradox! Of course it's old news. Anyone with sanity is aware of that.

I do realize it is from last year. I just wanted to post it here to state that at least they had planned on doing a full season.

The paradox is either that we'll see more crap in the same vein of FF or we won't see nothing at all. Which sucks. But if 4Kids plans on showing everything they already have, we at least have another season and a half (or maybe more )of stuff we didn't see yet. We still have half a season of FF, and a lost season. They could burn through that in a year, but a 6 year run is still pretty impressive nowadays.

^ Not really. We have only six episodes of FF left, that can easily be aired in September-October. 4kids could have easily finished up the season in May or June if they wanted, but they're probably using the 6 eps to "buy them some time" in the Fall in case whatever comes next isn't ready yet. The Lost Season probably won't air on TV at this rate.
This is no different than the way the last three episodes of Season 2 were held over to the Fall, (remember how they only aired Pt. 1 of the Battle Nexus before the summer break?), or how Season 1 took a break at the end of "Shredder Strikes back" and the last eps of Season 1 were saved for September? The entire FF season was completed, its just your usual summer break with no new eps. This is no different than how 4kids always aired their seasons. |

I still say there is no excuse for the TMNT to not live on, on the air.
Simpsons didn't rely on toys to fuel 18 seasons of the show. Other shows have lasted a very long time without need of toys, and if 4Kids comes with some nonsense about, "oh... well... no one wants to make toys about our shows so we can't keep going." BS I say. Since when did Winx Club have a ton of toys and merchandise to keep it afloat? Why during FF episodes did I see ad's for new episodes of a show I thought was long gone? CoughBScough. I now say that if 4Kids doesn't renew it, they never had faith in it, and want to take the easy way out, and don't give a care less about the fans and only want their money. There are just to many things in place I see in the TV industry that wouldn't make sense for TMNT to not remain around. Hell make the show a series each season like Power Rangers for all I care. But if a show like PR can come and show the same basic premise each season, there simply is no excuse. Look at Transformers... Armada: Optimus dies like the old show, Megatron becomes Galvatron, Unicron exists. Energon: No clue if Optimus dies but wouldn't be surprised, Megatron becomes Galvatron, Unicron exists. Cybertron: No clue if Optimus dies but wouldn't be surprised, Megatron becomes Galvatron, Thank god Unicron doesn't exist. My point is, people can rehash crap, and it can still last longer then TMNT has on the air aparently. NO EXCUSES 4KIDS! It's laziness or thinking about the green. Either care or don't, but if I were 4Kids I would quit getting everyone riled up, and just keep them happy. If Laird can take his own money and keep something going why can't a huge corporation. I call shenanigans if TMNT isn't around much longer. End rant. -X-

All the pessimism in here is kind of like if a bunch of kids got together and decided to have a contest as to who will win "dibs" on playing as Raphael from now until forever anytime said kids got together to play TMNT.
[edit]The pessimism isn't unwarranted, though.[/edit] |

I've got it...Fast Forward should concluded with Renet returning the guys to their present time. It'd be perfect and since 100 years is passed maybe she'll be a little better with the whole time stream thing now.

I the Turtles' sense of time is a line, Renet's is more like an ink blot... or an oil spill. So, she is every age in her reality at whatever point in the Turtles' continuity and vice versa. I never thought about it before, but that means she must live in the same universe as the Battle Nexus arena.

That would waste all the effort Don and Cody put into the time window. I know we didnt actually see them working on it but I really dont think Dons the guy to put off important work.
