Least Favorite TMNT Universe?

What is your LEAST favorite TMNT universe?

I am not including The Next Mutation, since pretty much everyone dislikes that one. But of the 5 major ones, which one is your least favorite?

I can't vote, I love all of them. Next Mutation was a bad show, not necessarily an awful universe, you also left out Image. If I had to vote I'd go with Archie since it's the turtle-verse I've had the least exposure to.

I like all those universes, mine would be Next Mutation with Image as second. Although I do like Image, but I can't say I like it more than the others.

I can't vote either like the others said you left quite a few off the list like the next mutation, images, video games, toy lines, etc.

The other poll about favorites only included these 5 universes.

But even if none of those are your absolute least favorite, please vote for which of those you like the least. And you can also mention the universe you dislike most. I am assuming TNM is a given for everyone.

Why does it have to be the least out of the 5? Why not your fave out of the fivem because life is too short to dwell on the negativity of things, you know what I mean?

Someone else asked already which one was your favorite. So I am now doing the flip side. I am not a pessimistic or negative person- I am just curious about this.

if I had to choose I'd have to go with the movie world simply because of the new movie...I really loved it at first but I can't watch it again I find it boring.

Sid & Marty Kroft's Mighty Morphin' Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation...

But, out of the poll, I just don't know... The movie universe was 50% lame (due to the halfway good second and mostly bad third movie). The '87 'toon was also consistently lame, but it was what caught my attention in the first place. 2K3 is my fave tho.

meh...I suppose the archie comics medium. I can't that I actually hate it since I've never read it. How ever I'm not so big on the character ninjara and her inclusion into the turtle team.

I'm going with the movies, simply because they are the least loved out of the five for me. Archie and OT are pretty much the same thing, at least in the beginning they were. But once Archie got on its own, they had some really cool stories. Looking back on it, the OT was obnoxious, but that was what it was made to be: fun as hell and full of color.

It's time for me to comment on my own thread.

The 2k3 toon is my favorite TMNT universe. It adapted some of Mirage's best storylines quite well while adding some new ones that work great as well. So that one was easy to eliminate.

Mirage may be a chaos of continuity errors, timeline errors, inconsistencies, plot holes, contradictions, and incoherencies- not to mention being extremely gritty and having some things I disagree with. BUT it was what started it all. If it were not for the Mirage comic, the other incarnations would not exist.

The 1987 toon may have totally altered Splinter's origin and not focus much on the family aspect. But it was my gateway drug- as well as that of many of us. I have no other major complaints about the old toon. It gives me a lot of laughs. April is a kickarse career woman- not to mention sexy. Some episodes are extremely good. If it were not for the 1987 toon, many people would have never found out about the TMNT- much less gotten into them.

So it boils down to either the movies or the Archie comics. I have only read 13 issues of the comics (starting from where they have storylines different than those in the OT). So far they seem good and have a great message- though 40 had a great idea yet very poor rendition and execution of it. The first movie was more faithful to the original comic book than the OT, while still incorporating some nifty elements of the 1987 cartoon. The other movies were fine. Honestly, I think the main purpose of the movies were to promote the Ninja Turtles even more- which they accomplished. Storywise I am not so sure. The 2007 movie did get me obsessed with the TMNT for the second time- but I do have a few criticisms of it.

If I had to pick a least favorite indeed, I will have to go with the MOVIES. I liked them. I just liked the other universes better.

I pick the movies, the first ones had been nice as a kid but watching them now is pretty embarassing. :s And the recent one was cool but that alone can't match up with a pretty freaked out archie universe.

I cannot bring myself to officially vote in the poll but I'd have to say the FF seaons of the 2k3 series are my least favorite.

It is the one I've seen the least, which is the 2K3 series but that possibly could not be if I decided to watch it.

I can say that I don't care much for Fast Forward and Next Mutation would have to be in second.

Dammit... I can't vote either because none of those Universes are remotely sucky. not even the movies. The first and last one were brillaint, the other two, not as good, but still enjoyable.

As for the comics, there are actually different sub-universes depending on which author wrote and drew it. Which would, for me be whomever wrote that lame Casey Jones story in Turtle Soup 2 or 3 (I forget which one it is, but it's the issue with the TMNT parody where they play a send up of Dungeons and Dragons and fight a giant baby).

My 3 least favorite Universes are...
  • The Next mutation. All and all, I felt if they didn't add that stupid stupid girl Turtle, the show would have been okay. I remember loving the first episode, and once Venus was introduced, it stunk like heck.
  • Rock show Universe.... just and only Just because of that stupid Christmas special. Seriously, to coin a phrase from Jerry Seinfeld, What was the deal with that?
  • 1987 toon based Children's books. They never were any good. Either they were terrible transcripts of comics or the movie, or horrible kiddfied (even worse than the old toon) versions of themselves doing rediculously childish easy reader things.

And not the cool "easy Reader" either...

I mean that book where the guy steals Pizzas and the Turtles say:

He did not take a number.
He did not wait.

That's the trump card of all of them.

The 2K3 ones are pretty dang good, though.
