Fast Forwad overexxageration
After watching a few episodes.. I just gotta say.. what's with the guys??
Mikey seems even more immature, more annoying, and he does that girly scream as often as he can. It seems whenever he does or say anything, he annoys the guys and they're like 'why do we keep him around anymore?' And Raph... he's either always raggin on Mikey, or just anyone in general. Like the future made him worse cause every time he opens his mouth he's saying some asshole prick remark. What gives? |

I guess I'm the only one who liked Raphael like that lol
Maybe it's because I'm not a Michaelangelo fan. |

LOL, Yeah, after he's helped them all take down both Shredders, manifest the dragons in the Tribunal with them, aided in their defeat of every villain they've killed. I mean, those accomplishments were just as much his as they were the others'. He deserves as much credit as they do. Sometimes, when he is gloating in an annoying, unnecessary way, while I do believe he's in the wrong, I say to myself, like in Grudge Match..."Well, considering the way you guys treat him sometimes...what do you expect, that he's just gonna let you get away with it without some type of payback." However, I do like how they stood up for him in Graduation Day, that was a good momentary change of behavior...I actually accepted it when they were slapping him during that.

Raphael hates the future. OK, so he has an attitude problem- period.
And Michelangelo sometimes does show some surprising moments of insight and maturity. It's just that FF seems to have less of those and more of goofball Mikey. Donnie and Leo were not really changed.

I agree with that, Scandia. However, Leo hasn't really shone that much in this FF series. The only ep he got to himself was his story in "The Journal." I'd like to see at least one other episode where he's the focus.

But Mikey was turned into a very juvenile moron and Raph became a grouchy dingus. But want to know why? The scripts were simplified for younger kids. Someone at 4Kids or Fox had the brilliant idea of cutting any of the depth the 2K3 series had, and replacing it with obvious stuff that is almost patronizing towards the audience. I think "Class of 2105" was a good example of just taking something and simplifying it beyond belief. Yes. Mikey's a goofball. We get it. I do admit, I like his Darkwing Duck-esque display of Jealousy in the Turtle Titan episode. But other than that he seemed like a slow witted 10 year old, and not the jokester he was before. Raph just wants to break stuff and say how much he hates the future. now, this could have provided some good drama or something, but they went for pedestrian gaggery here. Once again thinking it was for a younger audience. I mean 2K3 was surprisingly adult (not quite as dark and adult as the comics, but pretty much grown up more or less), but someone somewhere didn't want that.

And lets say your right and the turtles are acting differently. So what? The turtles are in a new environment and they are having new experinces. People tend behave differently when they their lives are changed so drastically. |

I think they've made the characters somehow more shallow than they're in the 2k3 series probably to make the FF more child-friendly. After all, they want to sell more toys, don't they?
FF takes a step towards to the old toons in the sense that the characters are not "dynamic" in a way - they're just easily undestandable stereotypes, but they'll never come to a point where they crack any of those initial conditions or show some clash for some "inner growth" aspect or something seen in 2k3 (in example Leo's and Raph's relationship faced some changes). Spoiler:
This is just my (oddly described) opinion. FF is an interregnum after Ninja Tribunal (which felt occasionally quite heavy) but FF surely isn't what I want to see. On the contrary I was happy when I learned the 2k3-serie had much intense and "multi-levelled" characters than the old toon. Hopefully they'll stay intense. |

So wait, how is this different than Mikey's girly screams during the Notes of the Underground arc?
Or how is Raph picking on Mike any different now than back in Season 4, where Mike constantly bragged about his Battle Nexus Trophy win and Raph would slap him or pull his bandana? This stuff did happen in the early seasons, it might be more noticeable in FF, but don't act like they didn't do the same things before. |

It's kind of like what happened when the Comic Turtles were transformed into the Cartoon Turtles in the '80. Execpt in this 2k3/FF case the change is nothing as drastic as that was. Last edited by Wanda; 09-13-2007 at 10:59 AM. Reason: Error in writing |

Well, Mikey did show some insight in Graduation Day: Class of 2105 when he realized that the video games weren't the things preventing him from training, it was himself. So, they still have Mikey gain some insight. I think they did this as others have said, because it's been kiddified for youngsters. I do hope the new direction is more toward 2K3.

Let Me Tell you a story:
"In the future the Internet will be replaced with a new way to connect to information, after the great message board wars of 2109 all message boards had been shut down causing rabid nerds to take their bickering, fighting and hatred to the streets. After months of fighting they all but died and realized that their fighting was moronic and that they indeed where fans of the same thing yet had different opinions it was good and everyone lived happy with their own opinions." |
