You're not the only one, my friend. I've been lobbying Mirage and 4Kids to have Shadow in some capacity since the series began.

These new concepts sound horrible, anyone wishing FF S2 hadn't been canceled?
FF had gotten better at the end of the season and the second season sounded a lot more interesting.

When was this rejected?
I'm prolly the only one who wishes FF season 2 went on.
And it went on recently Peter Laird said no to it.

I agree that FF was definately improving. When first introduced, I thought they completeiy wasted the potential of the Dark Turtles, but they gradually became better characters right as the show got the axe. I'd kind of like to see more of them, just, you know, written better.

Though to be honest, I only really wanted S2 to go ahead so I could get that Space Usagi episode, so perhaps I'm not the best judge.

I recomend a "Tales of the TMNT" series. You could tie up the 2k3 and even >> universes and do new interesting and fun ne shots. You revisit the SaiNW universe, maybe even do a "What if the 2k3 TMNT met the 90's TMNT?"
My thoughts exactly. This is how they could revive the series, even though new comers might be a bit confused, but maybe not if they have one shot episodes (or maybe a two parter here and there).

And as much as some of us complained about it, I think we'd rather have FF continue than some of the new stuff they're shovelling. Personally, I think the Banana Octopus Squadron could work lol.

EDIT: I just thought of something... the "Superworld" idea sounds a bit like Stump Asteriod to me, any one else think so?

Yeah, I thought Fast Forward was getting a lot better, too. I even thought 2k3 started out kind of badly (except in animation) and then got waaaaay better. It's a shame; if they have to keep the show really light-hearted and sci-fi, I'd rather they keep it in Fast Forward instead of pulling out another random idea. Also, I hate when the Turtles get kid sidekicks, whether it's Cody or Zack or kid versions of themselves. Please ... no more children. Unless it's a cute flashback. Although Angel wasn't that bad, especially in "Prodigal Son."

I hope she wasn't too young in that episode because she was kinda hot ...

Compaired to this other crap, even if FF continued with the same crummy plotlines and obvious gaggery the 4th episode on had, I'd rather see that again.

Could you imagine baby Mikey? Even whinier and more immature than FF Mikey? Why must these writers agonzie me by putting my favorite turtle to a slow, annoying death?

I'm very glad Playmates shot this awful idea down.

All of this just shows that Peter Laird and Mirage no longer know what the fans want. Maybe it's mid-life crisis for Peter or something. Sorry if that was harsh, but really..... toddler turtles meet the TMNT for a whole season?! That's nuts! I would have seriously stopped watching the show if that would have happened.

The TMNT 2007 movie was great. Why can't they make the 2008 season similar to that?

Oh and Superworld?! They were actually considering having the TMNT use a card game to fight?! Oh my gosh!

The details Murphy just posted for the Playmates pitch of "Ultimate TMNT" sounded like it could've been cool.

...at least, cooler than Turtle Babies, anyway.

I'm not going to lie. I think all of these ideas are poorly pathetic. I'm eager to see a new show, or at least a continuation, but if it is going to suck, I don't want anything at all. Ugh.

Ultimate was an attempt "to bring the TV and CGI movie universes together" (pitch materials quote), albeit with a creative focus on and tweaking of the original cartoon series, upping the humor level of the current series while still trying to walk the grungy streets of the original comic and recent movie.

Many past characters from various universes make their appearance. Most notable amongst the TMNT's regular allies are Usagi Yojimbo (shown here, and © Stan Sakai), Tattoo, Mondo Gecko and Hamato Yoshi/Splinter (toon origin version). Amongst the villains are Shredder (natch), Ruin (formerly Mutagen Man), Rat King, Slash and, um, Wingnut and Screwloose.

"For the first time ever... the turtles will be drawn and written as real teenagers. Their personalities and relationships will still be developing, their abilities and roles will still be growing and their training will be more intense than ever."

And so it goes... into the dustbin of TMNT business history.
Wow. And this.... was scrapped. Unbelievable.

To be fair I see why Laird rejected Playmates idea.

They wanted to bring Shredder back (again) and have old toon Splinter there? Uh, unless they were doing some parallel dimension storyline, how would they explain a Hamato Yoshi Splinter and the current 2k3 Splinter together, especially since Hamato Yoshi was killed in the current cartoon?

And why Mutagen Man? He was only in 1 episode of the old show and is far from a popular character. Random.

Seemed more like another relaunch to me. What I liked was the proposed TONE and angle of the new show (from what I can make out from Murphy's blog.)

Now, uh... how they can't find a way to have fixed this up so it would have been "Laird approved?" And he approved the *&^%$ baby Turtles thing. Yeah.

LAdies and Gentlemen....
Spoiler:
I don't friggin' give a crap anymore. Whatever the hell they want to do, that will ultimately suck completely is fine by me. I'm friggin' not even going to bother. The animation industry is in friggin ruins now, so whatever happens to the Turtles is just the garbage icing on the crap cake.
