Shredder's Screen-Used Left Shoulder Guard.
Hey, all!
I got a couple requests in my introduction thread to show off the only prop I've collected from the first two live-action films, so here it is: ![]() ![]() This is my screen-used left shoulder guard from The Shredder's costume worn throughout Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze. It can be clearly screen-matched to many shots of "pre-Super" Shredder throughout the film - excluding the garbage dump entrance, obviously. There are paint anomalies, scrapes, and other unique damage to my piece which makes it fairly easy to identify. Blade application and paintjob are also spot-on, as well as numerous other details about the piece's construction. That huge center blade even has a huge line of wear on the back half from the helmet's bottom edge always scraping against it...*drooool* Interesting note, the COA provided with this piece states that it is a stunt shoulder guard from the FIRST film, but I'm not sure about that due to the pad design, blade length/height, and style of paintwork. Movie 1 Shredder stuff was really pristine and refined, whereas this prop is made to look very nasty and beaten up. That said, who knows for sure? Lots of Movie 1 props and costumes were refurbished (or "de"furbished, perhaps...) and re-used for the second installment, so this very well may be one of them. I'd need to do some more research on the subject first. Here are a few screen matches I've attempted with Photoshop: ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks for looking, and enjoy the pics! Cheers, Ryan |

That's very awesome, although slightly depressing to see it's simply spray-painted wood.
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, everyone!
I'm really sorry, but for my own sake, right now I'm not going to say who I bought the prop from. I hope to gather a few more pieces of Shredder's costume(s) in the future, IF they're ever offered. At the very least, I'd like to possess the other shoulder guard and his helmet. If I manage to snatch anything else, I'll post it here, too. Thanks again and cheers, Ryan |

Dude, great piece! The design they chose for the base makes it look like it was made from a turtle shell?? Not sure if that was the look they were going for.
That reminds me, I must go back and rewatch the TMNT movies. I haven't seen any of them since I saw them in the theatres 10+ years ago.
