Shredder's Colour Scheme
I've been wondering this while looking at different images of Shredder's original armour from the 2003 series.
The colour scheme used officially in the series is as follows: http://flickr.com/photos/terrible2z/...7603658187947/ Yet, a lot of the official art, as well as the initial action figure, gives Shredder some bluish armour: http://ninjaturtles.com/html/profile7.htm Why the inconsistency? At least when Shredder had blue armor in the old series, it was limited to some action figures... Any theories?

I have to wonder where this entire blue armour thing came from also, looking around at old color art, they would tend to highlight the armour that Shredder had on with hints of blues so I'd guess perhaps that's where it came from.
The all out blues on the figures always came across as lazy to me. I also think that Playmates is in a mind set that they must add more colors to their figures to make them look good, even if they don't go with how the characters looked on the show. Quite frankly I think I'd really love it if the NECA Shredder had some Blue highlights on it's armour to go with the how he looked on the reprint of TMNT vol. 1 No. 1 |

Have ye any images of this blue-tinted Shredder? I don't recall if I've seen it.

The point is obscured by his shell. It's a lot better looking in action.
What the deuce does that have to do with Shredder, though?

Thank ye very much, Vaughn. I have indeed seen those before, but never realized they were blue-tinted.

Aye. Still mind-boggling where the blue armour for Shredder in the some of the old Playmates figures and some of the art and action figures in the newer figures came from. A slight tint does not equate completely blue.
