No, you're a bit confused. Mirage publishes all of their own trades.

Simon & Schuster would have the ability to publish and distribute trades to retail stores if they chose to, but, as we've learned, they're asshats.

However, there is nothing stopping Mirage from publishing anything that they want to except for Peter and Gary's laziness. And also Gary's stupidity (and conveniently full wallet) for sticking with an asshat publishing partner.

I was referring to the fact mirage couldn't admit there was demand for trades. I think the people running it need to learn anything about book OR comic book marketing.

Heck, a V2 Trade would sell faster than the singles.
Well, my statement kinda assumes what I thought to be obvious:

high demand for trades = fans want trades

Part of it is that they are clueless about marketing. But another part of it is simply a lack of willingness from Mirage (Peter/Gary) to put forth the effort to 1) Put the books together 2) Pay for the books to be printed 3) Sell the books 4) Deal with returns on the books

The definition of a publishing company should be a willingness to do all of those things.

Casual buyers, even within comic shops, go for trades a whole *(&) lot faster than singles. IF you want to get people interested in a comic outside of the people who already buy it, you'd BETTER have trades available.

Obviously. You'll get no argument from me on that. As it is this whole conversation runs itself in circles. Mirage won't publish trades for the public at large to buy, but they will publish $10 singles. Blah, blah, blah.

BTW Peter - I'm still waiting for your reply as to why you refuse to treat Mirage Publishing as a viable company that makes real attempts to earn a profit.

Wow, that guy paid about $60 too much for that.

Just watch eBay for all of this stuff. All of it shows up fairly regularly, and sooner or later it'll sell for "cheap."

Well, Merchandise ain't my strong point, but I'd say you can find one in Brighton if you hurry.

These aren't super common as a whole set, partially because people just tend to lose crap, but they're certainly easier to find than the 75 dollars above. Just check ever other day on ebay, and every day if you see one your watching.

Past that, just do what the Time Lord said.

Wow, I usually see this book go for the range of $140-160. I've never seen it go for this high, that's just insane. Guess I'll never get it.

Yea, I've never seen it go that high either. I wonder if maybe because it didn't have the cover people didn't realize what it really was and maybe thought it was something genuinely rare? Or maybe the lack of sigs? Crazy price regardless.

I sure would want to get one. If Mirage can reproduce copies that will be awesome. But beats me. Even the current TMNT comics are rare to where I'm at, what more the oldies.

Yeah the hardcover books are barely even on ebay, and the softcover's I've noticed have been selling for quite a bit on ebay to, well over a hundred $.
