I always thought Irma was cute she actually had everything to be attractive she just had no style or self awarness. Take off those glasses and let down her hair, and Irma may have given April a run for her money.

And I like that pictire of Irma, I wonder if she has actually a figure as good as that under that long skirt and baggy sweater she always wears. i like how this picture makes her look (in the face and hair at least) like how she she really in the show.

it's funny I've heard people say that about 80's Mikey but he just doesn't register to me as a "stoner" in fact he doesn't he seem that much of a "surfer" eighther except for a few surfer slang here and there.

I mean come on, the surfer lingo...in New York

for the same reason white people act "black" and try to act ghetto or gangsta even though the're clearly not. They're wanna be's, because that culture is considered cool. So I'm guessing 80's Mikey used to watch saurfer movies and copied it because he thought it was cool.

it looks like they took April's body and put Irma's head on it. I don't think Irma really had a figure like that, other wise why would she hide it under such unflaterring clothes?

Low self-esteem? Maybe a man wouldn't pay attention to her when she was younger an unflattering due to her voice and/or attitude. Enough years of that and a woman would cover herself in clothing she thinks suits her from people's perspective of her.

Again, look at Velma from Scooby Doo. Check around the net and you'll find a vast collection of drawings with her in provocative ways. She's another character that wasn't the sexual focus in the cartoon. She wore a turtleneck sweater and dress, as well -- probably because while she was growing up, men didn't care for her brains (Pup Named Scooby Doo aside, here).

Hmm... Thinking about it, perhaps that's why Irma was drawn to wear that clothing; maybe as a slight homage to Velma?

Easy, that's her style, they wanna make her seem as dorkish as possible, as unattractive as they can without going well over board. Do you remember the episode where her super hero costume gained magnetising powers? They show she's got a pretty nice figure, not the only episode either.
