"Shredder" thinks the turtles are amazing

"It was what it was," Saito shrugged. But Saito clearly took his job seriously and tried to avoid letting the movie's "unique" subject matter devolve his performance into camp.

"To wrap my head around that part and not to just do it as something frivolous.... I actually was very into this martial arts aspect of Shredder's character," Saito said. "And I just kind of kept to myself. I was under a very strict sort of rigorous routine."

Besides, Saito knew that the ninja turtles' origins were a comic book series that skewed to a much older audience than the TV cartoon popular at the time.

"When I got the job, I went down to a comic book store in New York City and I got a bunch (of issues) and it was amazing," Saito said. "It was so cool. It was my first exposure to a comic book for adults."

Very interesting read. Shredder was in Home Alone 3? Who'da thunkit? Not me, I don't watch crap, let alone sequels of crap.

But I can forgive Mr. Saito. A man needs to get paid.

I enjoy his work on Eli Stone... just wish they'd put it back on Wednesdays so there would be back-to-back Shredder again.

I think it's cool that he went and got the comics

What I've always found funny was in MacGyver James Saito played a good guy (he was in the very very first ep) but Rob Paulsen was a bad guy (not in the same ep) *lol*

HOLY CRAP! Rob was a bad guy in MacGyver? I've gotta see that episode - haven't watched that show since I was a kid.
