Mini Mutants Exoskeletons Now Out (01/09/09)

As reported in his collection thread lastnight Archon found them at Target and sure enough I went to my local Target today and they had them all and one Shredder.
The box design is very nice as is the logo for the series, the back is decent as well.
I have no complaints about this line of figures besides maybe differnt paint could have been added to the turtles or something to seperate them from past releases.
While they all looked great I only got Shredder as he's the only Mini Mutant I didn't have previously.
These cost about 10.99 before whatever your local tax is mine ended up coming to $11.76
I'll post pics of Shredder in a bit.
EDIT: I just noticed it comes with some TMNT PC Game by Ubisoft.
I'm not sure what it is more than likely something relating to the last movie I'm sure.
EDIT AGAIN: I also noticed Playmates is now using a new sharper logo much like the one I used on my blog post about Wal-Mart not selling TMNT anymore.

These look to be the coolest things on Playmates' release list thus far this year.

They finally have new boxes?! After 2 years of that boring movie packaging, I must see this! Any chance of pics of the box and the Shredder with mech (Trying to remember what it looks like )?

I hope, so that kitbashers can paint them right and get some total ownage on Playmates...and that's if they keep it simple!

...total ownage? I knew I shouldn't have watched a Headmaster episode of Transformers Animated last night...

The box art still follows the movie style, it's just nice to see a well designed package and logo for the series.
You can tell some thought went into these, and that's allot these days from Playmates.
I'll always give credit when it is due, and this is one of those times.
Here are 2 mib images:

I'll take some out of the box later as I need to get some rest before working tonight.

I think it's funny that on the sides of the boxes, they advertise for the Ninja Action series that came out umpteen-million years ago lol.

Wait, they're giving away the full PC game from the TMNT movie with an action figure? God, I'm glad I got my copy of that for free. Oh, and anyone able to rip the music/audio from that game into MP3s or WAVs can feel free to PM me.

Wow, I would have thought it would be Ninja Adventures again.

Ha ha, that game did have some decent tunes, didn't it? I've actually been looking for those myself, as well as those from Konami's 2003+ games (especially the select screen from the 2003 game).

Target in my neck of the woods (Acworth, GA) - also has some sort of parachute-ing TMNT mini-fig things- they don't look as articulated as the regular mini-figs...

That looks awesome. MUST HAVE!

A Baxter one of these would be great too and would even the odds a bit for Shreddy Bear.

Playmates have always been pretty good with the exo skeleton toys. I'd kill for them to wake up and try their hand at making ExoSquad again.

i just got Shredder last night! has anyone made any side-by-side comparison shots of these and the Exo-Squad mech off-which they are based? all my exo's are in storage.
I toadly want Leo too. BUT want to find MY older Turtle mechs...are these the SAME? i can't recall? i never had Shredder mech back when they made them (not the GIANT ones, but the 1999ish ones with skinny mini turtles)

Thanks Vaughn. Even if it ain't by much, at least they changed it. However, I am very sick of ugly browns and blacks on TMNT packaging.

It looks to have elbows to. Damn, now I want them

Wonder if I could convert it to fit GI Joe figures (Like my Foot Ninja custom )

Red face

Is the Shredder pilot any different from the figure from the Leonardo VS playset?
