turtles 1 and wilmington north carolina

Hopefully this hasnt been discussed before.

I'm really interested in taking my son to wilmington to attempt to see if i can find any of the local scenary from the first movie. The 11th and bleeker buildings ( no such address exsists but you know what i mean) . maybe the abandoned foot warehouse, or the street where shredder temporarily fell to his death. I would love to see any of these locations in real life.

Thoughts, ideas? Any locals? anyone gone?

I would like to go as well, but it seemed like kind of a boring place. I can't be the judge that it is, I don't live there (so no offense to any natives) but it just looked that way from their website for travel info. But heck, for a vacation, I think I could do better. Maybe save it for a side-stop if heading south or whatever!

i'm on another forum of about 25k members and none of them know if the area is changed or not. i'd love to go but its like 1k miles from here and i'd hate to go if nothing is similar. You would think you could actually find the streets where the final fight happened, or maybe where april got mugged, and its a fact that the local news station down there lent there place for aprils broadcasts. Even if the buildings are all gone it may still be a blast to stand on the same streets. people here would appreciate it at least.

Its not a tmnt forum. Its a car forum www.chargerforums.com. I just meant there are a ton of members but noone down in that area can verify anything for me.

Most of the movie was filmed in wilmington nc. You can google tmnt and wilmington nc and pull up a few articles. Plus it also states this in the credits at the end of the first movie. I dont know if they'd film in two seperate cities or not, i would think that to be a pain in the arse.
I know for a fact the local news station down in wilmington -wway 6 - i believe, is the one that allowed for the news station clips.
I'm looking particually for these locations
the street of the final fight
the farmhouse for the training and rebuilding of the truck
the abandoned warehouse
and if i could find the famous (11th and bleeker) spot, thatd be cool, although that address doesnt exsist in reality.

this place has been listed as one of the places used for the movie, but i dont know for what. http://www.panoramio.com/photo/1381293

http://www.panoramio.com/photo/8000112 maybe the scene where raph fought on a roof top? Although thats known to be on a stage not a roof, so i dunno.

or maybe it was the warehouse where the foot hung out inside. Anybody see any boxes of cotton in the foot headquarters? ? haha. i remember boxes saying archie comics.

Well heres some info i recieved from their visitors bureau

Thank you for your interest in the Wilmington Cape Fear Coast. The Ninja Turtle movies were made here, but sets no longer exist. Location areas that you mention are still in historic downtown Wilmington – the Cotton Exchange (a converted cotton warehouse with shops and restaurants) and WWAY TV 3 (the TV station on Front Street, just north of the Cotton Exchange). I am not aware of other locations. Perhaps the Hollywood Location Walk would be something you would want to take when you visit - http://www.hollywoodnc.com/. Lots of movie and
TV stories about filming. Please visit our web site at http://www.cape-fear.nc.us/ for up-to-date information on the area. If you have other questions, please let me know.
