They will be sold at Toys R Us if that's what you're asking.

I'm just gonna say, I saw these yesterday, and I have to admit, I like what they're trying to do. By which I mean, I don't like how they've done it, I don't like how they've gone about it... but I like what they intended.

Looking at them, I think the box art is Meh... at least we didn't get saddled with rererererererereused stock art. And I think including a pack in DVD was pretty brilliant. Sure, it's an episode we probably all have by now in our completest box sets/volumes... but I think that these weren't designed for the hard core fan base that has every figure five times over, and has collected them even during the dry spell 1996-2001 era, and the reissued repacks that sold at KB for 3 bucks each (Kicking myself for not buying many of them). These are clearly for the kids who grew out of them, lost or destroyed them, and didn't care to check E-bay because they would see these in a store and say "Dude, used to have these. And since they have a 25th sticker on them, I automatically care about these again."

There are a couple things I do find fault with myself... first of all, the price. 8.99? These things should clearly retail for 7 bucks or less. The one thing I always liked about Playmates and the 2k3 line was that when other companies were stocking hard sell 10 dollar and up figures, they still managed to sell TMNT at 5 to 6 to 7 at the highest. Secondly, these things are begging for figure bases. Nothing fancy... just a black (or green) circle of plastic with a peg in it, maybe stamped to say "25th" on it. And Third, I always hated the plastic card with the weopons on it. But I see what they're getting at.

And you gotta admit, they put fan favorite Slash in the line up. That completely shocked me. It's almost sort of kind of listening to fans, I guess.

I kinda wanna get Bebop, Rocksteady and Casey, though.

Or well that is what I've been told.
I think that is a more brilliant idea. I would really be willing to get a box set of the figures if the Box is well designed enough, and comes with some sort of bonus. And not just a DVD. Just don't make it as extravagant as the 25th Optimus Prime... that really bumped the price up to an incredibly high 60+ bucks.

hopefully they'll manage at my place to get them, in the movie line 2/3 if the figures the imported was splinters, few turtles and even fewer other chars. I never saw shredder, karai or the golden warrior guy.

EDIT: look look http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/p...38&mode=retail

Really?

A well constructed design that isn't graphically hard on the eyes and laid out perfectly.

A Slopped together mess of a design, infact it looks as if no care was put into the box design at all.
As I've said before the sizing on the background and foreground characters are just horrible and really off, and don't even get my started on the crop job and that giant sticker.
The Art isn't the problem, the way it's used is.

It's traditional for toy companies not to give an exact release date. However, in recent years some companies started listening to fan demand for a release date. Hasbro's one such company. I'm not sure, but I think it started with Star Wars and went so well they started to do so for their other big lines.

Anyways...Oh boy, it's analogy time!

WARNING: Bad puns ahead...
I see the toy aisles as a chess board monarchy. There's the most important company, the King, which if captured it's pretty much all over. Hasbro is the King with Transformers, GI Joe, Star Wars, and Marvel the toy aisles wouldn't be the same without them. Mattel is the queen. Powerful, but not the most important (Also, they don't make many good action figures, but they still command a lot of power). Marvel Toys/ToyBiz is the Bishop. Ever since they lost Marvel, they just kind of zigzag trying to find another great one like Marvel Legends. The Rook would be Bandai. Power Rangers has been the power house since it started, but Bandai doesn't offer much else. They just keep going straight with the formula that has worked for 16-17 years. Playmates is the Knight. They want to be good, but they can only seem to make left turns. Then all the other small and off-brand companies are the pawns.

...Yes, this what I do with my extra time...and no, I don't know how I got on that subject...

I love how Raph is posed the same in both boxes.

Maybe I just need to see it in person, but I think the new boxes look fine. Better than that porta potty brown they've been using since the movie line started

Well said, and better than my "Playmates-is-a-tobacco-company" analogy. Though if you worked at my office, I'd likely shout "nerd!" at you at this point

Yes, that was brilliant! But is Marvel Toys zigzagging to another line? I thought it was dead.

I also don't think Playmates is seriously trying to compete with the big boys. If the company were, it would do exceedingly well to steal a better articulation mode for its figuresl! It's not like those things are copyrighted.

Not that that suggestion applies to the 25th anniversary rereleases, but still.

Not anymore. Marvel Toys/ToyBiz is officially dead.

The company was dissolved entirely a little while ago.
