Time. Window.
Did you forget? O_o

There's a huge difference, of course... the EGB existed in the same universe as the RGB (wasn't there an EGB episode that was sort of a call back to an RGB episode?) If it's an age thing, it might very well be similar to "Once Upon a Time Machine."

I really don't see this working if they can't get the original voices. I mean, NO ONE can emulate Rob Paulsen's voice. Even 2 VA from the old series couldn't measure up.

And another thing that confuses me... if it's non-union, how come Susan Blu was able to be the voice director? does Voice directing Union trump regular voice acting union?

But then, in a cartoon world like old TMNT, no one ever ages..the Turtles are always 15 throughout the ten-year run of the show, April is always 28, nobody aged from 1987-1996, why would they now?
Not only that but EGB and RGB took place in the same 'universe'. It was the EGB taking up the mantle of the originals when they got too old to bust ghosts. This isn't the case for the TMNT, the 2k3 Turtles aren't 'taking over' cause the OT ones are over the hill, they're two different versions altogether, so they can still meet up as is.

Is there an echo in here?

I hated the idea of a cross over at first when it was suggested the univeerses are just too different but now not only do I like it I want it/better happen. In fact Shredder wars would be even more epic like this. It can be done. There has been hints at both so I think we'll get them both and it should please everyone with the show having a real end.

Not the original VA? A damn shame but I can deal with it, I rather have the crossover happen.

Plus the OT was supposed to meet the Mirage Turtles at one point in time.

Grundelesque -- an EGB sequel to the RGB ep, The Grundel.

Close, but no cookie for you. The official explanation is that the RGBs all went their seperate ways because they busted all the ghosts in the world. Why run a business that there's no demand for, eh?

No, it would be a catastrophe. Part of my love for the old series is the voice cast and some of my least favorite episodes feature alternate voices.

No, the Archie Turtles were supposed to meet the Mirage Turtles, in a comic book.

I thought that was it. I just couldn't remember the Grundle episode of the old series.

Hehe, I love NT Raph.

I'd like anything that was released, but I'm probably more biased towards the NT at this point. It would be truly bizarre to see a cross-over, but I could see it happening as either:
1) the NT briefly watching an animated series of themselves (much to their dismay!)
2) some kind of portal machine sends them into a reality where they look like the OT and are in the OT universe for a short while.

I think having 2 sets of turtles at the same time would warp my mind...maybe that wouldn't be a bad thing though.

This would be the weirdest thing done in the TMNT galaxy.

I keep thinking, this would have been a much, much better idea had it been a one episode segment... like in 2K3 as a dream sequence or in FF as an alternate world, where Renet accidentally sends the turtles to. But as a movie, it just seems like a lame idea.

I would rather, instead of meeting their OT selves played by someone else so it really doesn't count... they just bring over Krang, Rocksteady and Bebop, and thrust some other OT characters into their universe.

Of course, I'd prefer it if the DTV did it's own thing and didn't latch on to TMNT cartoons old or new.

Seriously? Guys can you please hold your b1tching and moaning until we learn more about this and get some hard facts.
When and if things go wrong then go to town, but right now none of you know jack squat about this, so it seems a bit unfair to do this to those working so hard on this project.
This sounds flipping great and I've had about just enough of people going on and on about something they don't know anything about.
The complaining around here has become like routine.

Agreed. I personally loved the idea from the get go, and EVERYONE at the Panel was super excited about it. Regardless of how it turns out, regardless of wether or not it meets way to high fan expectations, it should still be fun.

They are all just DYING to talk about it, but holding back. That should tell us something....And if memory serves, someone who grew up on the old show wrote it.....that right there gives me hope alone .

If they don't hire the original voice actors for the Turtles, I'm not watching it, period.

I don't need to hear "fake imitations" of the 80's Turtles. Why can't they hire Rob Paulsen and Cam Clarke?

Then don't buy it, no one's forcing you to.
And no one's said a thing about them not having the orig. voice actors at all, not anyone official anyway.
So far everything on here has been simply fan speculation.

If the old toon voices were hired for the project, we would have likely heard them say so. Rob Paulsen would have said, "I may be reprising Raphael" and so forth.

Honestly this DTV sounds like a mistake, I'd rather they make it about the Shredder Wars so the 2k3 series can have a proper ending instead.

You may call it bitching and but I call it being high maintenance. There's nothing wrong with having high standards, especially for a TV show. I know this is a different project altogether but BttS didn't really install a lot of faith in the fans about the competence of the show runners. Everyone may be jumping the gun but there being so secretive about the DTV so its no wonder were acting this way. Its just a cartoon yet their acting like the slightest bit of info leakage will ruin DVD sales or something.

Listen, I do my fair share of complaining and constructive criticism around this place but I at least know what I'm talking about before I run my mouth.
The point I'm making is wait it out, the sky isn't falling just yet.
Trust me my standards in many things are very high, I want the best out of this also.
Peter Laird has seen a bit of it and thinks it's great so I'm going to take his word for it until I see things for myself.
