Apparently you do not know that this is the norm in hollywood. THIS HAPPENS EVERYWHERE! Companies build up suspense and then usually spill some major details just before it happens to build up more press....

They can't tell you EVERYTHING, and sometimes even minor details will ruin the surprise...

Several pages back... it's a Union thing. 4Kids' voice actors are non-union... Rob Paulsen, and all the other Californian based VA are union based. Still don;t understand how Susan Blu is the voice director.

True but 2k3 isn't exactly a hugely popular cartoon or big Hollywood movie. I've seen a lot of cartoons who had future plots, characters, VA's, and etc leaked long before the show airs. Even whole episode summarys. I don't even think this show ever cracked a 2.0 in the ratings. They can afford to spill something. No ones asking for every last detail about the DTV.

Are you sure? This is a DTV, not part of the main series, and they can't hire outside NYC? Didn't James Avery try out for the voice of Shredder before the show started?

Unions, man... without them we'd be in deep crap, but if they don't have the most annoyingly specific, crazy, and pointless rules.

Listen, I do my fair share of complaining and constructive criticism around this place but I at least know what I'm talking about before I run my mouth.
The point I'm making is wait it out, the sky isn't falling just yet.
Trust me my standards in many things are very high, I want the best out of this also.
Peter Laird has seen a bit of it and thinks it's great so I'm going to take his word for it until I see things for myself.
You know what man? I completely agree. I'm just giving up the complaints about something we don't have 100% confirmation about, and I'm keeping an open mind. In fact, I DON'T want to know anything about the DTV. I want it to be a surprise. At least until it's unveiled officially.

Though I still hold the fan service stuff as a concern. not worrying, nothing like that. Only thing that concerns me at this point.

Its not like the old toon voices are dead or anything, why the hell can't they do the extra mile to let them reprise their roles? Is Mirage and/or 4kids this cheap?

Absolutely pitiful.
tone down the language?

in a way... however the two Ghostbuster teams were from the same universe. Man, that was a fun 2-part episode.

Edit: Noticed this was said elsewhere. Woops.

Hmmm. Well, like Vaughn said, we don't know anything for certain yet, so let's not keep dwelling on our own preconceived notions.

That being said, though, I do hope that somehow they do end up getting the old VA's. The idea in and of itself is still really, really awesome and no matter what happens in the end, I'll show my support for such an incredibly awesome concept and end up watching it. I'm just saying, though, that I do hope they have the old old VA's, since it would definitely be an added perk.

Also, again, I'm not complaining, this is all wishful thinking, but I'm also hoping that the 2K3 Turtles are drawn in the same art style as they looked in the first five seasons. I'm not that big on the designs for FF and BTTS, so... ya, I'm just hoping.

Perhaps 4kids can come on here and confirm or deny this.
The DTV and the new interstitials are the only things being worked on at the moment. "Wedding Bells and Bytes" was the last episode of the season.

The new interstitials will begin airing next week (but cut down on-air). You will be able to see uncut versions of the new interstitials on 4kidstv.com (you can watch EVERY episode of 2k3, FF and BTTS there now as well as a bunch of the previous interstitials (more will be added soon!)

Are all those shorts, including the classic 2k3 shorts, going to be put on the DVDs?

It would be great to have all those clips in DVD form.

Is it really the old toon meets the new toon? I don't know what to think of this as well. I never watched the 2 cartoons in their entirety. I'm more for the original 5 part mini series and haven't really watched the 2k3 show. I've seen bits and thought they were still kiddy like for my tastes. But I'm inclined to check it out soon, I bought the 1rst half of season 1's dvd. I'm more a original Mirage TMNT comic fan.

Look at Lairds posting from his blog:

October 7, 2008

Given some of the unfounded rumors that have popped up in various places on the Web about the upcoming "animated movie" from 4Kids that Lloyd Goldfine made mention of in a recent interview, I feel compelled to clarify this one important point -- this "movie" is NOT just three more episodes added to the end of this current "Back to the Sewer" season. It is a completely separate project, intended from its conception as part of the 25th anniversary celebration. The reason it is being produced in three episode-length pieces is that doing so gives us more flexibility in how we show it. But it is all one story -- you can think of the three pieces as the three chapters in a three-chapter story.

While I am still not going to give a lot away at this point, I can say that this project may make a lot of fans quite happy, as it finally brings together the old and the new. And without being specific, I can also say that this project will also show fans the Turtles as they have never before been seen in animation.

I find the last bit wondering if he means maybe the Mirage TMNT comics versions being animated? They've never been animated before. To me it'd be pointless if it was the two cartoons meeting each other to an extant. Three part story? Maybe the violent TMNT are being used and it doesn't have to air on tv? Remember the old DTV idea was for Imagi Animation to adapt the TMNT Vol.1 #1 comic. Wish this idea still happened or it could've been done the traditional old 2D cartoon animation way. That would've been fine too. Maybe this was their back up plan for the 25th anniversary DTV? I hope so. But if its the two TMNT toons showing up I'll still check it out. Anyone else think this maybe the old comic TMNT appearing?

I think this will probably be a stand alone movie that retells a story from the Mirage comics using the 2k3 character designs and stuff.

The term comes form the word "interstices" - "a gap or break in something generally continuous". We refer all of the animated shorts we did for TMNT as such. There were a couple of series, "Mayhem from Mutant Island" being the latest.

It is not a retelling of any previous storyline. It is new material.

Is this DTV going to be the final TMNT project 4kids works on?

Or is it possible that we could get new DTV's set in the same continuity of the series down the road? Even if the series is over, it'd be nice to get a couple of movies set in the same universe.

I completely agree with you. I doubt too that they will make a crossover between the old and new show. It could be possible that they will make it in the same tone/style as the original comics, which could be very interesting. But yeah...only time will tell, and no matter what they have decided, I am looking forward to it, and I am sure that they are making something really cool to celebrate the turtles.

I see. Maybe I'm back on the "OT meets NT" boat.
