Yay! More characters announced. Of course, we knew these ones would be in already. I suppose they'll reveal Casey next.

Well they used the movie design for April, and looks like 2k3 version of Shredder.

Man, I'm kinda hoping for alternate costumes or something.

Looks like all the 4kids cartoon voices reprise their roles.

That was definitely the 4kids TMNT, Shredder, Splinter and April.

I'm glad to see these guys still voicing the characters, even if the 2k3 universe is over for the time being.

Has there been any mention yet of how many characters will be in the game? That's all I want to know at this point so I can start guessing the line-up.

No idea, but if the trailer's any indication, starting this summer, they'll actually reveal them on the official site. At least we have a timeframe for this, instead of a guessing game like the past few months have been.

Oh, and am I the only one that's pissed that we're seeing thousands of E3 trailers already? What's the point of having E3 if you're just going to give the footage for gaming sites to post in the week or so prior?

Wow, the comments on that page are irritating.

Can there just be a rule that if you haven't read at least one issue of the comics, you're not allowed to post comments about anything Turtles related?

Comments like that are across the board for video game sites. Gamespot, Kotaku, 1up... Hell, even the developer's blog at IGN. I stopped posting at that blog with regularity because some dude went on a tirade whenever I disagreed with his "vision" of what Game Arts/Ubisoft should do with the game.

Most of those so-called TMNT fans probably never even picked up the DVDs of the original series.

These are people who watched TMNT 15-20 years ago when it aired on TV and remember almost nothing about it.

There are a lot of "casual" fans who were part of the TMNT fad of yesteryears and never bothered to get back into it. These are the same people who don't really know anything beyond the original cartoon, the old movies, and the old videogames.

I realize that. So, then, I don't know why they act like they do.

I haven't really seen or read any of the post Beast Wars Transformers fiction. (Except the movie. That sucked hard.) Accordingly, I don't haul off on any new stuff. I don't know enough to condemn it.

Or, like, I've seen maybe a handful of old Star Trek episodes. So I can't really judge new material on anything but its own quality.

If you don't know about Turtles besides having watched the cartoon twenty years ago, just shut the f*ck up about it like a normal person. Judge games like this as a video-game, good or bad, but don't talk sh*t about it because you only want to fight Krang.

The most baffling thing is that even a cursory check on Google, Wikipedia, or the official TMNT website reveals that they started in a gritty comic book far before the cartoon. It literally takes five seconds to find that information.

I know this isn't a new problem. In fact, a healthier number of people are aware of the TMNT's origins than ever before. It's probably just that Gamespot commentors are more retarded than your average bear.

What? I don't have those DVD's, so what's your point?

The thing with many of the "classic TMNT" fans (and similar types) is that they expect everything to revolve around their "childhood", as if anyone gives a f*ck. It's the same sh*t with people who bitch about the live-action Transformers not looking like guys wearing cardboard boxes.

So in the letters section of TMNT Volume 4 #30 Laird says that he thinks

Spoiler:
Fugitoid

might be playable, but he noted that he could be wrong. If he's right,

Spoiler:
I'm guessing it'll be Volume 4 Fugitoid where he's really huge and strong because I doubt regular Fugitoid could put up much of a fight.

Well, the character is mentioned as being captured by Shredder on the official site. Maybe he gets saved in story mode and becomes unlockable.

This also isn't exclusive to licensed properties. I saw a ton of comments on sites (even SNK specific ones) about how people refuse to buy The King of Fighters XII if Mai Shiranui isn't in it, despite it having, I don't know, like 88% of the cast populated by better characters.

That's annoying and narrow-minded, but at least those people know their sh*t before they complain.

The people whining about how "Turtles fans want the old toon characters" clearly haven't even bothered to read one sentence on the property. Seriously, you just have to check the Wikipedia page for ten f*cking seconds. If I was going to post such a kneejerk reaction to anything, I'd at least do a quick search to make sure I was on the level.

I wasn't going to post but I ended up remembering I had a Gamespot Id from years back. The stupidity level in there is mind blowing. I guess posting on a message board for hardcore turtles fans has spoiled me a bit. Most of those people are probably 15-20 year old twats jumping on the "retro is cool" bandwagon and pretending to give a **** about turtles because it was popular in the 80's and 90's.

I'm pretty stoked for this new game. It looks fun and I'm really hoping that the folks at Mirage make some really great character selections.

Now I'm probably gonna get flamed for this but I just hope they don't fill the roster with ONLY Mirage characters. Especially considering how obscure they are to some. I presonally don't think it's a sin to include a few OT/Archie characters(just a few) and I actually think it's a good idea market wise.

But that's just me...
